The silence between them stretched on, eventually broken by Julius.

"Lyra, I…"

"Wait! I'm not ready for your answer, I... I don't think my heart can..."

"No, you have to listen. I... I like you too."

Lyra's heart skipped a beat as she slowly lifted her head to meet his gaze. Her chest fluttered with a mixture of emotions.

"But I also like Ava... just as much... and I don't want to ruin what we all have, so I can't choose between you two..."

Her heart clenched as she absorbed his words, although a part of her had already anticipated this response. Julius had always expressed his profound care for both of them.

Ava likely felt the same way that Lyra did. Just as Lyra loved Julius, Ava did too. Despite concealing it well, Lyra was certain Ava's feelings ran as deep as her own.
