The sickening story churned Skyla's stomach and she had to bend over the bed to empty the contents of her last meal on the floor. Her condition didn't help as she already felt nauseated at times. 

She couldn't even decide what made her sicker, that woman's treatment of Doran when he was a kid or her mal treatment by Doran now. 

For him, it was all revenge. The bottled-up emotions he had kept as a child had transformed into a rage-breathing demon, who was now demolishing everything in its path.

All that pity she had been feeling for the woman, somehow evaporated.
