"Hello!"

The fear reared its ugly head as soon as Skyla heard his coarse voice. Her hands shook and sweat trickled down her spine but she kept herself steady and injected confidence in her voice before answering him.

"You should be ashamed of yourself. How low will you fall, Doran?"

It was her, self-satisfaction crept up on his face curving up his non-existent lips.

"My lovely wife has finally decided to call me."

His words flared up Skyla's temper. How dare he call her his wife when they were long divorced and she was already engaged to someone else?

"I am not your wife, Mr Blackthorn. Show some respect, although I can imagine it's not your forte," she blasted at him, shaking in anger at his coy tactics. It disgusted her to the core.

"So formal. How may I help you?" Sarcasm dripped from his voice.
