The child struggled free of the ropes, took off the cloth blindfolding him, and his face was already covered in tears, presumably wanting to cry out, but his mouth was gagged.
Once the gag was removed from his mouth, he burst into loud sobs.
The intense crying drew the attention of the people behind.
"Little friend, why are you crying?" someone came over and asked.
Frightened, the child looked at her and shouted, "Mommy, I want my mommy, I want my mommy."
"What's your mommy's name? Where is she? Can I take you to find her?" Seeing the child cry, the person's maternal instincts overflowed.
"Would you have cried like this if your mother disappeared when you were fourteen?" Ye Ranran raised an eyebrow and looked at One.
"No mommy, don't know," One responded without much emotion.
"So what were you doing at fourteen?" Ye Ranran smiled.
"On missions, fighting for territory, killing," One listed matter-of-factly.
