Just as she was wondering whether Shi Tou had gone back while she was catching river prawns, she heard Ms. Sun calling out from not far away.

"Nanzhi! Quick, save him! Shi Tou...Shi Tou's drowning!"

Nanzhi was a bit stunned by Ms. Sun's words, which hit her like a bolt from the blue. Shi Tou, was he, drowning?

The water level of the river couldn't possibly be high enough to drown a person.

She was only stunned for a moment before immediately stepping towards Shi Tou's direction, and as a result, she slipped after only a couple of steps and found a deep pit at that location where even an adult like her couldn't stand steady.

In the end, she had to hold her breath and dip her head into the water, straining her eyes to search for Shi Tou.
