In the following time, Shen Lan was fully absorbed in her design. As someone who always objected to overtime work, she would lose track of time while working on her design proposals.

It wasn't until she stopped her work that she realized that she had been working for over an hour past the end of her duties, and that the surrounding workstations were all now unoccupied.

"Is it really this late already?" Shen Lan stretched lazily, standing up from her seat to move about, "Let's call it a day, I'll continue tomorrow!"

Walking alone down the empty corridor, Shen Lan was preoccupied with deciding what to have for dinner, completely oblivious to the suspicious figure not far off.

Once she stepped into the elevator and the doors closed, the lights suddenly went off, the elevator made a clanging sound, then stopped moving.

This startled Shen Lan, and she began frantically pounding on the elevator door: "Is anyone there? Is there anyone outside?"

There was no response.
