Bab 9: Another Step Closer To My Dream
Jun have a good voice. He can rap and sing perfectly. But I'm a lot more anxious about this vocal evaluation. But I somehow managed to do it better than I expected. So, I guess it's over now. Let's hope for the best.
"Kitty? What are you thinking?"
"Don't call me that."
"Come on, you used to be so obsessed with that filter."
"Yeah. Whatever."
"Now tell me why the long face?"
"I was thinking about Ethan."
"What about him?"
"He said we'll talk after today's lesson. But he just told me that we'll have this talk later."
"Just let him be."
"Nah....I'll wait."
"Are you gay?"
"I guess not."
"You just said I'll wait for him. How romantic."
"Shut up. I have someone else."
"What? So, you just confessed that you do have a crush."
"Let's go home."
Jun didn't leave me alone after that. He told both Hajin and Sora. Hajin was fine but Jun and Sora ate me up but still couldn't get the name out.
It's true I have someone I like. But I'm not ready. Besides I'm an idol trainee. I have dating ban. I do have a bad luck.
Next Day................
People say they can't sleep the day before their results. Hajin is like that. He's a serious person. But it's different with me. I sleep better on the night before my results than other days. Funny right? Just like last night. I slept like it was my last time sleeping.
"Oi Dae, wake up. How can you sleep this well?"
"Mhm.....go away."
"Ok I'm leaving. You keep sleeping."
As if Jun's nagging wasn't enough, someone started calling me nonstop. I just wanted to sleep a little longer today. This is so unfair.
"Hello? Who?"
"Who do I sound like?"
"Oh Hajin!", Dae says as he sits up.
"I promised to go visit you guys but I'm sorry. I can't make it today."
"Is somethin' wrong? You okay?"
"What happened? Put it on speaker." Jun says worriedly.
"I'm completely fine. Actually there's an audition for a new teen series. They are looking for new faces. The company wants me to audition for the lead role."
"Damn bro!!!! Best of luck. Go get it."
"I sure will. If I get the role I'll treat you guys."
"God please make him pass so that he'll give us good food."
"Ok guys I need to leave now. Bye."
"Bye, we need to leave too."
When we reached the S.Z building, I started feeling nervous again. And I think it was pretty much visible on my face.
"Come on be confident."
"I will pass, yes I will."
"That's the spirit."
The staff took us to a conference room. I never knew we have one in our company. This for sure I've seen before. Our seniors aka the artists of this company sometimes go live in this room. But I didn't knew it was inside the building.
"Jun? Let's sit there."
"Ok."
Before we could reach there Ethan reaches first and occupied a seat.
"WH-"
"Jun. Don't. It's not like those seats are ours."
"But we saw those chairs first."
"So what? Let's go sit somewhere else."
Maybe to Jun it was a big deal. He is always like that. He looks at something first and likes it, means he wants it. Even a similar looking candy. He wants the one he sees. He always says " I saw it first means it's mine." Pretty childish. Although I know it's not right. But what can I do? I just hope he gets rid of it over time.
Today was like a riding a rollercoaster. Screaming because of panic at first then the rest of the ride screaming because of happiness and excitement. Why you ask? I was screaming internally the whole day. Even now. At first it was cuz I was scared and uncertain. But then after hearing the results, I was still screaming internally but the reason was different. It was because of joy and excitement. Yes, you got it right. I passed the evaluation. Now I'm another step closer closer to making my dream come true.
Four Months Later...................
While we we're practicing our manager comes to meet us in the practice room. But He isn't alone. While I was still trying to guess who the other three boys are Mr. Eun spoke up.
"Minsoo I would like to borrow the boys."
"Yeah sure. Are they the new guys?"
"Yeah they are the new and final members."
Confusing right? We five boys were selected that day. Me, Jun, Ethan, Yohan and Mihiro. Although they told us there might be new members, but now that I see them here in front of me, this feeling is something I can't explain. We'll be debuting in January next year. But seeing the team here all set, I feel like I'm more closer to that big stage I always wanted to perform.
"So boys please sit down. I have an important announcement to make.", Mr. Eun our manager said in happy tone.
"Mr. Eun? Are they they the final members?", Yohan asked excitedly.
"Yes. Boys please introduce yourselves."
"Hello, I'm Zhou Xian. I'm 15 years old and I'm from Shanghai, China. I like playing the keyboard. I've been training here for two years now. I hope we get along well", Xian introduce himself in a friendly tone.
"Hi I'm Min Doyun. I'm 17 years old. I'm from Daejeon. I'm looking forward to training with you all."
"Hey? Dae? listen. Doyun and Hajin will make a good couple right? Look both are so serious.", Jun whispers to me.
"I know right?", I whisper back.
"Hello friends I'm Hayashi Haruto. I'm 16 years old and I'm from Kyoto, Japan. Although I'm a little late but I will work hard."
"Haruto is cute.", I whisper to Jun.
"Are you into boys?", Jun asks.
"Get lost.", I whisper to Jun.
"Okay so boys we are expecting to record it next month. Plus if any of you don't have a passport make sure to get one as soon as possible because we'll be going abroad to shoot your debut MV's."
"MV's?", I ask.
"My bad. I misspoke."
"I almost thought we're gonna have two songs debuting.", Jun whines.
"Another thing. Ms. Seo our CEO wants you guys to have a pre-debut single. You'll receive the song on Monday. And we are expecting to record in a week. Also start shooting as soon as the recording is done. It's going get busy, got it? Now get back to training."
As soon as he left the all of us went wild. Are we really gonna record our first song in a week? How exciting is that? We were screaming, laughing and crying until Mr. Minsoo entered the room. Only then we stopped.
Me and Jun moved into a new dorm provided by the company. This room is bigger than our previous one. There are four beds here since four of us are living here. Except for me and Jun, Yohan bunks with us. And now Haruto moved in today. As I previously said Haruto is really cute and friendly. We got along pretty well.
As for my relation with Ethan, it's all good now. We are back to being good friends. I know pretty well that what I did back then was wrong no matter how much I apologize, it's not enough. But I'm happy I got my friend back.
