Alpha Gabriel remained absent from the pack, he was yet to return from his visit to Lena, whom he had sought his herbal expertise to uncover the truth about Ariana's potential pregnancy. Concealing his true purpose, he had spun a tale for Ariana and his pack mates, citing pressing pack matters as the cause of his prolonged stay away. The pack in quiet anticipation, awaited his return.

In the confines of her room, Ariana tossed and turned in her bed, her body unable to find a comfortable position. The night was dark and stormy, the wind howling outside her window like a chorus of lost souls, and the leaves rustled in the chilling breeze.
