Isabelle watched from her window as a steady stream of visitors began to arrive at the palace. The sun was setting, and the sky was streaked with reds and oranges.
She sighed wistfully. "It seems so peaceful out here." She murmured. Her thoughts drifted back to her conversation with Julia the day before. "I wonder what Lord Harland has up his sleeve..."
"I imagine we won't know for some time." Alexander murmured. He crossed his arms, standing behind her.
"What...? What do you mean?"
Alexander smiled.
"Lord Harland is a shrewd businessman, and he's been around the block a few times. If he's planning something, he won't do it right away. It would be too suspicious if he suddenly tried to make a move after you'd just signed a lucrative contract with him."
She frowned. "So...you think he's biding his time?"
