She didn't like these tunnels.

Without Vaughn by her side they were cold, dark, and creepy.

She had to lean on the filthy walls to make her way through the, on her twisted ankle, but she did it anyway.

But knowing that stubborn man he wouldn't stay there long.

If he hid in these tunnels she'd have no way to find him.

So it was still a race against time.

Get to that room before he made himself scarce.

She felt dizzy from exertion, anxiety and excitement by the time she got to the wooden door she sought.

Her hand shook slightly as it gripped the handle and pushed the door open.

Inside the room, Vaughn stood facing away, a hand over his heart and head bowed.

The shadows had dissipated somewhat, but it was still a messy room - littered with papers, trinkets, maps and drawings.
