Bab 422: I'm not losing time, I'm protecting it

Snowball ran over to sit beside her.

She rubbed her hand over the fluffy white fur at his back, smiling to herself as the soft, velvety feel of his short fur tickled her palm. "He's a very good boy," she murmured. "And he's my good boy."

He was purring and chirping away as she spoke.

She hummed lightly.

It was like he was proud to show off what a good and deserving boy he was.

He was an excellent boy, and very worthy of attention and affection, so he had every reason to be proud.

He leaned into her touch, bumping her hand with his little pink nose and letting out a small 'merp' when her fingers brushed across the smooth, velvet texture of his ear.

It was so adorable, she almost couldn't stand it.

How could anyone maintain their sanity when such a precious darling was right there in front of them?

She certainly couldn't be expected to.

She wasn't quite sure if she actually managed it or not.
