Bab 337: I'm not fleeing the scene, I'm joining a new one

With each day that passed, they increased their distance from the forest fire. And the fact that she didn't see it when she looked in the distance toward it made her think that at least it had to not be out of control.

Finally, she leaned out the window of the carriage as they rode, and her gaze fixed on their destination: the capital city of Ceiori.

She'd heard descriptions of it. It was supposed to be highly focused on beauty, wasn't it?

She smiled and hugged Snowball a bit closer to her chest, making him mewl with delight.

"We've arrived at our destination, dear." Phoenix murmured to her in a low, warm voice.

"I see..."

She gazed at the city in wonderment as she walked with her husbands.

It was truly stunning.

A shining gem on the horizon, gleaming in the sunlight.

Surrounded by the lake, she'd never seen a city quite like this.
