Bab 248: I'm not eating soup, I'm getting horribly distracted

Lyov leaned against a table in the great hall, eyes closed and lips drawn in a frown. Whatever he was thinking about, he did it so deeply it seemed like he was barely aware of his surroundings.

He looked tired, and it was no surprise - he'd been chiefly responsible for taking care of the citizens trapped in the palace during the blizzard, and his duties would continue unless he had someone replace him or until the snow was properly cleared from the town.

She couldn't even suggest replacing him with anyone else. Not only was he the best at handling the public, but he'd surely refuse even if she offered. And so...of course, he was exhausted.

Isabelle urged him to sit at the table, pressing a kiss to his head. "Eat, love. You look absolutely exhausted."

The blonde knight nodded slowly as he ate his soup, humming lowly and letting out a contented sigh. "Thank you."
