Bab 119: I'm not dazed, I'm processing

Isabelle felt slightly uncomfortable when the carriage rocked beneath her and shook her from sleep. She hadn't even realized she'd fallen asleep on the ride. She blinked, turning her gaze to her left where Lyov sat.

Lyov offered a slight smile, before glancing back down at his book with a look of mild concentration.

She let her eyes drift downward to Snowball on her lap, enjoying the peaceful feeling that settled within her heart at seeing Snowball resting comfortably with his soft white fur against her clothes.

While the bumpy ride had stirred her, the little kitten snoozed peacefully still.

The sun shone brightly above them, casting warm rays upon Isabelle's cheeks as she peeked outside to observe the passing scenery. Her gaze lingered briefly on the passing farmland, the arrangement of animals grazing in the fields, and the endless stretch of forest.

She still couldn't see what was past the abrupt drop in the distance.
