With their conversation concluded, Sico left Nora's office with a sense of pride in the Minutemen's accomplishments. The successful implementation of the transportation line marked a significant milestone in their mission to protect and rebuild the Commonwealth, and Sico was eager to see how it would further enhance their operations in the days to come.
As Sico left Nora's office, he felt a renewed sense of purpose and determination. The successful completion of the fuel-powered truck project was a testament to the Minutemen's resilience and ingenuity, and he was eager to see how it would impact their operations in the Commonwealth.
Heading back to the testing field, Sico found Mel and Preston overseeing the cleanup process. The field was quickly returning to its original state, with debris cleared and equipment packed away.
Sico approached Mel and Preston, commending them for their efficiency in managing the cleanup.
Sico: "Great job, Mel, Preston. The field looks good as new. I appreciate your dedication to ensuring everything is in order."
Mel and Preston nodded in appreciation, pleased to have completed the task efficiently.
Mel: "Thank you, Sico. We wanted to make sure everything was tidy after the test drive. Is there anything else you need us to take care of?"
Sico considered Mel and Preston's question before responding.
Sico: "Mel, I need you to continue focusing on building the fuel-powered trucks and the anti-aircraft gun. We'll need to expand our fleet and strengthen our defenses. Keep up the good work, and Preston, I need you to prioritize training more drivers. We need to ensure we have enough personnel capable of operating the trucks in case of emergencies or if any of our drivers are unable to continue."
Mel and Preston nodded in understanding, acknowledging their respective tasks. They were committed to supporting the Minutemen's efforts and understood the importance of their roles in ensuring the success of the organization.
Sico thanked them both for their dedication and instructed them to keep him updated on their progress. With their tasks assigned, Sico left Mel and Preston to continue their work, confident in their abilities to contribute to the Minutemen's mission.
Then Sico went back to his quarter at the vault using the vault elevator to go down to the vault, as Sico returned to his quarters at the vault, he felt a sense of purpose and determination wash over him. Sitting down at his desk, he began to brainstorm ideas on how to further improve the Minutemen capability.
He pulled up his terminal and accessed various reports and data, reviewing the current status of the Minutemen's operations, resources, and potential areas for growth.
As Sico reviewed the reports and data on his terminal, one glaring issue caught his attention: the scarcity of ammunition within the Minutemen ranks. It was a problem that had plagued them for some time, hindering their ability to effectively carry out missions and defend themselves against threats in the Commonwealth.
With a determined expression, Sico began to formulate a plan to address this critical issue. He knew that establishing an ammunition factory would be key to ensuring a steady supply of ammunition for the Minutemen. However, he also realized that he lacked the expertise in ammunition manufacturing and didn't know anyone within the Minutemen who possessed such knowledge.
As Sico pondered the issue of ammunition scarcity within the Minutemen ranks, he realized that he needed to acquire the necessary knowledge and expertise to address this challenge effectively. Determined to find a solution, he decided to embark on a quest to locate resources that would provide him with the information needed to establish an ammunition factory.
His first step was to search for books or blueprints on ammunition manufacturing and gunpowder production. Knowing that military installations often contained valuable resources and information, Sico made plans to explore such locations in search of the knowledge he sought.
Armed with this plan, Sico began to research potential military installations and supply depots in the Commonwealth where he might find the desired materials.
As Sico delved into his research, he focused on identifying the nearest military base or supply depot that might contain the valuable resources and information he sought. Utilizing his knowledge of the Commonwealth and available maps, Sico pinpointed several potential locations within reasonable proximity to Sanctuary.
Upon discovering the National Guard Training Yard to the west of Sanctuary and Fort Hagen, where he and Nora had previously encountered and eliminated Kellogg, Sico recognized the potential significance of these locations for his mission. While the National Guard Training Yard held promise for acquiring valuable resources and information on ammunition manufacturing, Fort Hagen sparked memories of past encounters and the need for caution.
Considering his options, Sico weighed the benefits of each location. The National Guard Training Yard offered the opportunity to gather essential knowledge and materials to address the Minutemen's ammunition scarcity issue. However, Fort Hagen, despite the potential risks associated with its formidable defenses, might also contain valuable resources and information that could aid the Minutemen in their endeavors.
With a sense of determination and preparedness, Sico made the decision to prioritize his visit to the National Guard Training Yard. He reasoned that acquiring knowledge related to ammunition manufacturing was crucial to addressing the immediate needs of the Minutemen. However, he also made a mental note to revisit Fort Hagen in the future to explore its potential benefits further.
After making his decision to prioritize the visit to the National Guard Training Yard, Sico headed to MacCready's quarters to enlist his help for the mission. Knocking on the door, he waited for MacCready to answer.
When MacCready opened the door, Sico wasted no time in explaining the situation and his plan.
MacCready: "Sico, what brings you here?"
Sico: "I need your assistance on a mission, MacCready, we're heading to the National Guard Training Yard to gather resources and information on ammunition manufacturing. I could use your expertise and combat skills."
MacCready: "Sure thing, Sico. I'm in. Just let me grab my gear, and I'll be ready to go."
With MacCready on board, Sico left his quarters and headed to the surface using the vault elevator. He made his way to Preston's location, finding him overseeing training exercises for the Minutemen.
Approaching Preston, Sico relayed his plan for the mission to the National Guard Training Yard and requested his assistance in assembling a team of 15 militia men to accompany them.
Sico: "Preston, I need your help, We're going on a mission to the National Guard Training Yard tomorrow to gather resources and information. I need you to prepare a group of 15 militia men to join us."
Preston: "I'll get the team ready, Sico. We'll be prepared for whatever lies ahead."
Sico nodded in appreciation of Preston's readiness to assist and turned his attention to another crucial aspect of their mission.
Sico: "Thank you, Preston. In addition to the militia men, I also need you to prepare the three trucks we have for us to use. We'll need them to transport any resources we acquire back to Sanctuary."
Preston acknowledged the request with a firm nod.
Preston: "Understood, Sico. I'll ensure the trucks are ready and fully stocked for the mission tomorrow."
After thanking Preston for his cooperation, Sico made his way to the Scavenging Department to meet with Hancock. He found Hancock overseeing a group of scavengers, coordinating their efforts to sort through salvaged materials and supplies.
Approaching Hancock, Sico relayed the details of their upcoming mission to the National Guard Training Yard and requested his assistance in preparing a team of scavengers to accompany them.
Sico: "Hancock, I need your help. Tomorrow, we're heading to the National Guard Training Yard on a mission to gather resources and information. I could use the assistance of 10 of your scavengers to help us scavenge for supplies."
Hancock listened intently, nodding in understanding.
Hancock: "No problem, Sico. I'll get a team of scavengers ready to join you on the mission. We'll make sure to scavenge every inch of that place for useful supplies."
Sico thanked Hancock for his support and cooperation, knowing that the scavengers' expertise would be invaluable for their mission. With Hancock on board and the scavengers prepared to assist, Sico felt confident that they were well-equipped for the expedition to the National Guard Training Yard.
After thanking Hancock for his cooperation, Sico left the Scavenging Department and returned to his quarters at the vault to prepare for the mission tomorrow. With the team of militia men, scavengers, and trucks ready, he knew they needed to be well-prepared for whatever challenges they might encounter at the National Guard Training Yard.
Sico spent the evening organizing supplies, reviewing maps of the area, and going over the mission plan one last time. He ensured that everyone involved understood their roles and responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of caution and teamwork during the operation.
As he finalized the preparations, Sico couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension. The mission to the National Guard Training Yard held the potential to provide valuable resources and information that could benefit the Minutemen greatly. However, it also carried inherent risks, given the uncertain conditions of the Commonwealth.
With everything in order and his determination unwavering, Sico settled in for the night, ready to face whatever challenges awaited them on the mission tomorrow. As he drifted off to sleep, thoughts of the task ahead filled his mind, fueling his resolve to ensure the success of the mission and the safety of his team.
The next day, Sico woke up early, feeling a mix of anticipation and determination for the mission ahead. After a quick breakfast, he made his way to the temporary meeting place where the trucks were parked, ready to meet up with the team and begin the mission to the National Guard Training Yard.
As Sico arrived, he found the militia men, scavengers, and trucks all gathered and ready to go. He greeted everyone with a nod of acknowledgment before stepping forward to address the team.
Sico: "Good morning, everyone. Today's mission is crucial for the Minutemen, and I'm grateful for each of you for joining us. Our objective is to gather resources and information at the National Guard Training Yard that will benefit our cause."
He proceeded to brief the team on the plan for the day, emphasizing the importance of caution and teamwork. He also informed them about his intention to search for books or blueprints on ammunition and gunpowder during their scavenging efforts.
Sico: "While we're at the National Guard Training Yard, keep an eye out for any books or blueprints related to ammunition and gunpowder. Acquiring this knowledge will be crucial for addressing our ammunition scarcity issue."
With the briefing concluded, the team prepared to depart for the National Guard Training Yard. Sico ensured that everyone was equipped and ready for the mission before they climbed into the trucks and set off towards their destination.
After a eight-hour trip, the team finally arrived at the National Guard Training Yard. Despite encountering raiders and a pack of feral ghouls on the way, they remained vigilant and pressed on, determined to fulfill their mission.
As they get down from the truck and approached the training yard, Sico surveyed the area, taking note of its layout and potential threats. The yard appeared deserted, with overgrown vegetation and dilapidated buildings scattered across the landscape.
