One attack after another had already pushed Duan Hongye's rather extreme temperament to its limit. He bellowed furiously and began to assault the metal gate before him with a berserk ferocity. The metal gate was even less able to withstand Duan Hongye than the high-voltage electricity had been; it took him merely a dozen seconds or so to blow the gate apart.
But just as the metal gate burst open, another gate of the same design descended in front of him, still blocking Duan Hongye's path. The water that had submerged Duan Hongye quickly drained away through the broken gate, vanishing without a trace, and the flow of high-voltage electricity inside automatically cut off. Duan Hongye was still trapped between two metal gates; the only difference was that now there was no water inside.
