(3rd Person POV)
Toji and Toshinori-sensei entered the assembly hall where the Headcaptain Yamamoto and his right arm and Lieutenant Chōjirō Tadaoki Sasakibe were waiting for them.
Yoshinori knelt and made Toji also kneel beside him. They looked at the Captain Commander and Yoshinori began to speak.
"Headcaptain Yamamoto, I wish to speak to you about Toji Fushiguro. He has just started his second year and has gotten his Asauchi today. The reason why we're here right now is to show you his Zanpakuto.
Toji Fushiguro has managed to form his Zanpakuto not even 10 minutes after getting his Asauchi."
Yamamoto looked at Toji with wide eyes. This was unprecedented.
"Step forward Toji Fushiguro and show me your Zanpakuto.", Yamamoto said.
.
Toji stood up and approached the man and presented his Zanpakuto to him.
Yamamoto grabbed the sword and checked whether it was different in any way. After not finding anything, he gave it back.
"That is a remarkable achievement Toji Fushiguro. You have proven to possess talent beyond your peers and I ask you whether you are interested in becoming my disciple?"
Toji was perplexed. He had not expected this unlike Yoshinori, who thought something like this might happen.
"Eh, is that ok? What about the other classes?"
"You will still go to the classes, but not to all of them. If there are areas where you are far ahead of your peers as I have come to know that you are, you will be able to skip those classes and learn with years above yours.
Every day we will meet, together with my other disciples, whom you will meet soon, to train and learn from me. I will instruct you in any area that you still lack and train you in all forms of combat.
So what do you say?"
"I would be honoured to become your disciple, Headcaptain Yamamoto."
"Call me Sensei from now on. Now go and return to your studies, and in the evening you will move closer to my quarters. Then you will also meet my other disciples Shunsui Kyoraku and Jushiro Ukitake."
.
(Toji POV)
The days got more interesting after that. I got sorted into another dorm that was more spacious than before. I also met both Shunsui and Jushiro and they were similar to their canon counterpart.
The three hit it off really fast and soon became good friends. Shunsui and Jushiro were a bit older than Toji and they had already manifested their Zanpakuto as well. So they both showed Toji their Shikai which Toji found to be interesting.
He always liked Shunsuis Katen Kyokotsu. The power to play children's games and use them in battle was truly a cool power. It was very versatile and if you practised enough, you could become truly powerful.
Sōgyo no Kotowari was also a nice Zanpakuto but to absorb and redirect attacks was not the best ability in his opinion. Unless the limits were truly high, the fact that you first had to absorb the attack, to then reflect it used too much time.
.
"Oh, those are cool Zanpakutos you have Shunsui and Jushiro. Do you also want to see mine?", Toji asked.
"What?"
"You manifested your Zanpakuto the moment you got your Asauchi and you already can use your Shikai?"
"Yes? Is that good?", Toji asked.
"That is beyond talented, Toji. No wonder Jiiji made you his disciple.", Shunsui said.
"Then can you show us, Toji?", Jushiro asked politely. Showing the power of your Zanpakuto was something very personal. But Toji thought that it was fine. He was not planning on showing them his true power, only a watered-down version.
"You showed me yours as well, so I will show you mine.", Toji said. He liked both of them and wanted to make a good expression.
Toji grabbed the handle of his Zanpakuto and pulled it out. When it was out he released it.
"Shape the world, Jūtai no Utagaki."
The activation was similar to the one from Aizens Kyoka Suigetsu, but Tojis was more physical. At least the one he would show everyone.
Shunsui and Jushiro looked and wondered what had happened. The Zanpakuto still looked the same but Toji had a big smile on his face.
"What happened Toji?", asked Jushiro.
"Hehe ...", Toji didn't say anything and simply smiled at them. Then to demonstrate he spread his arm and fell to the ground face first.
The other two got scared for a moment, but the blood spilling and pain never arrived. Instead, the spot where Toji fell got pressed farther in as if it was made ... of rubber.
Toji was then sprung back up and he jumped in the air and then used the ground like a trampoline. He started to laugh and the other two had their jaws on the ground.
"Come on guys, get in on this.", Toji said.
They looked at each other and then smiled and started to bounce as well. It was a fun time they had and laughed together. They started to play tag on the gum-like area and used big jumps as well as flips and spins to make it interesting.
Toji told them that everything his reatus touched and managed to infuse could be changed by him. He showed them by turning Yamamoto's quarters into gum. He then grabbed the door and pulled as far as he could.
"Hehehe, this is such a funny power to have, Toji. So you can turn anything into this gum?", asked Jushiro.
"No ..."
"No? What do you mean?"
"I mean there is more to it than just gum. Look.", Toji said and then changed the property again. He basically had matter manipulation with his Zanpakuto.
He turned the entire ground into a cloud. Instantly they all started to slowly sink slightly.
"Ah, what's happening?", Shunsui said.
"Try to lie down.", Toji told them.
They did as he told them. They sank a little bit and then stopped. It was so comfortable that they felt like they were on a ...
"... a cloud!!!", Jushiro said.
"Yes. Hehe."
"You can turn the environment into a cloud? And then this gum."
"I can turn it into many things that I wish, but I either have to infuse my Reiatsu into it or cut it with my sword. I think this could be used to help the 4th Division.", Toji said.
"Oh, right you could cut someone and then change their body so that they don't heal.", Jusiro said.
"Yes. And I think there are many more uses for this as well."
.
The three continued to have fun with Tojis Zanpakuto when they heard an angry voice.
"What is this?"
The three stopped jumping around and saw Yamamoto standing with his feet on the ground, looking at them angrily.
"What have you three done?"
"Ah Jiiji this is Tojis Zanpakuto ability. He can turn the environment into anything he wishes. Look he made the ground rubber, so we can jump on it.", Shunsui told their teacher.
Yamamoto was perplexed. This was Tojis Zanpakuto ability? He had gotten his Asauchi today, infused his essence into it in 10 minutes and then managed to use his Shikai on the first day. What sort of monster talent was this?
And what's more ... it was an unbelievably powerful ability. If he could change the environment into anything he wished, then the environment would always be under his control. What were the limits of these powers?
"You achieved your Shikai already?"
"Yes, sensei."
"That is most impressive. What else can you do? Do you care to show me?"
"Sure sensei.", Toji said happily. He was happy to show off the powers that he had come up with. His Zanpakuto was not called 'Jūtai no Utagaki' it was 'Sōzō no Jitsugen'. That was the true name of his Zanpakuto.
.
The ability of his Shikai was still the same, but he had changed the name to make it less threatening. Jūtai no Utagaki, literally means 'Matterweaver'. And Sōzō no Jitsugen stands for Manifestation of Imagination.
So to throw off enemies he used a different name. The power of his Zanpakuto was similar if not the same as his power 'The Visionary'. But he had a cool and special Bankai.
How did he know what his Shikai and Bankai were? Well, Toji connected with his Zanpakuto the moment he touched it and his inner world was ... shall we say special.
Unlike other Zanpakutos, he didn't have a Zanpakuto spirit. When he entered his inner world ... it was not really a world to begin with. He stood in the void, among stars. He could see planets and Universes ...
That was when he understood that his Zanpakuto was just like his Quincy powers ... limitless and totally free for him to imagine. It was an amazing feeling and even though he didn't have a Zanpakuto spirit, he felt an intimate connection with 'Sōzō no Jitsugen'.
.
.
Toji showed many different types of matter that he could change the environment into. There was gum which he took from the Human Human fruit: Model Nika and then showed off his version of an awakened Mochi Mochi no Mi, from Charlotte Katakuri.
He manipulated the house and had it trap Shunsui inside it. He couldn't move anymore after that as the floor was real mochi.
Toji also tried to change a tree into light. This resulted in the tree dissolving.
Yamamoto was shocked. This was a very powerful Shikai ability. Truly wonderful. Many thoughts ran through his head and he thought about what he could teach Toji.
He was talented in pretty much any field there was. The three of them had a good relationship already, that was good. They would be the future of the Soul Society. I would up their training. Lord knows that Shunsui is a lazy bum and the only reason why he can be so lazy is because Jushiro is also not the most physically gifted, due to his condition.
But now with Toji here, there was a good chance that the other two will also get more motivated to train and grow stronger. I can feel the thirst Toji has to learn. Not the twisted kind that needs the power to suppress others, but simply to learn new things and experience growth.
"This is a magnificent Zanpakuto, Toji. I am looking forward to what you will be able to do with it. For now, we will see how far you have already come with Zanjutsu as well as Hakuda and Hoho. Kido will be covered at a later date and is not something that I teach.
You can learn it from me but that is up to you. Now follow me to the training grounds. Jushiro, Shunsui, you two follow as well."
.
That day Yamamoto was truly surprised at the talent Toji showed. After letting him fight against Jushiro and Shunsui first, he noticed that Toji grew better at using Zanjutsu as he was fighting. He had a happy smile on his face and was enjoying the experience.
Even though he lost to both of them in the beginning, he was not angry or sad. Instead, he was glad and happy that he could fight with someone who was stronger or more skilled than him.
After watching them for a while and after several rounds, Yamamoto had a good idea of Toji's strength and current level. The true training would begin the next day.
