Bab 39: The Hunt

The hound shrieked as he saw the horror in front of it, blood splattered everywhere from the headless body of the hounds that lay cold on the ground. The hound slowly started to move back trying to flee, hoping Renji wouldn't notice it leave.

"Oh? You want to run away just like that?" Renji smiled very weirdly as he still had his eyes on the blood that was spreading everywhere. He didn't even turn his head but he could feel the hound was trying to run away. The hound started running as if its life depended on it, but Renji still stood there looking at the blood without moving. It felt like rather than feeling disgusted he was feeling happy, a little too happy he was just having fun.

[What is it? You are scaring me.] said Lisa and suddenly Renji felt like he woke up from a dream of shorts. No one could see it at that moment but one of Renji's pupils had turned grey.

"Huh?" Renji was confused for a second but he soon turned around and saw a hound was trying to run away. The hound had managed to almost escape by disappearing in the darkness but for some reason, he could still feel the creature's presence. He could vividly feel something in a distance not far from and he dashed towards it immediately.

Renji was right it was indeed the hound; he had managed to reach the hound and had a head start of a few seconds. The hound started shrieking as it felt as if its life was about to end, and he was right about that Renji suddenly appeared right beside the hound in a blink of an eye. After seeing Renji's face the hound suddenly started seeing different parts of the forest, it tried to screech but he couldn't for some reason. After a few seconds, it finally could see Renji, and beside Renji was its headless body.

-Level Up-

-New Skill registered: Basic sword mastery-

Renji suddenly was surprised by the announcement of the skill, although the level-up didn't surprise him as much as the skill did. He didn't know how he gained the skill so he was confused while he looked at the details of the skill.

[You must have learned to use swords previously so when you used the sword it was registered as a skill. This is a passive skill; you can level them as well if you become more proficient in using the sword. Getting something like this is very lucky, you must perfect your swordsmanship to get more benefits from the skill. This skill will help you a lot.] Explained Lisa as Renji was confused about the skill, after hearing her explanation he finally understood what had happened.

In the years he had lived with his grandparents he had learned how to use a lot of weapons. David would always take Renji with him each day for 2 hours to teach him how to use different types of weapons. He figured that must be the reason why he got the skill so easily just after defeating a few hounds. Although Renji got his explanation, he suddenly started feeling rage burning inside of him after remembering David and Clara.

Lisa was a bit confused after seeing Renji suddenly get angry, but she didn't question him as she felt it would be inappropriate at that moment. Renji calmed down in just a few moments but didn't speak any words.

(Basic sword mastery: when using a sword user deals 5% more damage to the opponent.

"So, I need to increase mastery." Renji understood as to how he could level up the skill it was the same as he had read about, you gain mastery points just for using a weapon. And after accumulating enough mastery the skill would level up on its own.

"I feel them coming." Renji said as he looked towards the direction he had come from.

[How did you know?] asked Lisa as she was confused as to how Renji knew the hounds were nearby.

"I just felt them." Siad Renji as he even he didn't even know the reason why. Hearing his reply Lisa was confused but didn't ask further she thought he must have a very sharp hearing.

Renji was right a few meters away from where the fight with Renji had happened, there were a lot of hounds gathered up. It seemed like they were accessing the situation and searching for the culprit. There were about 20 hounds, present at the sight, but that was not all there was even a hound who looked bigger than the rest. That hound alone was double the size of the other hounds, the hound had a white fur coat over its body, unlike the rest of the hound who had black fur.

'That must be the elemental hound lord, he must be their pack leader. I was fortunate that I didn't cross paths with that guy earlier or I would have been minced meat by the time I reached here.' Renji sighed as he saw the big hound, he was currently watching the gathering of the hound. He traveled tree to tree to reach this place, the tree he had climbed upon was very huge as he was 70 meters above the hounds.

[Yes, you should consider yourself lucky that you survived even after being pursued by so many of them. I don't think you have the chance to kill them even now.] said, Lisa while laughing. She knew Renji's strength so she was certain he would be able to take care of all the enemies at his level.

'Watch me' that's all Renji said after hearing Lisa's provocation. He didn't say anything else; he just kept his watch over the group. Renji had a huge grin on his face as he saw the hounds scattering, they divided themselves into different groups they were making search parties to hunt for Renji while he was looking over them from above the trees.

Soon after the groups of hounds scattered around the forest, Renji followed one of the groups. There were 4 hounds in this group, Renji was jumping over the trees swiftly without making a single sound. He was closely following the hounds, after a few minutes of searching the hounds suddenly stopped in a spot as they found something.

With a loud sound suddenly two of the hounds among the four fell to the ground with a bang. The other two hounds were startled, but before they could have reacted their heads went flying. Renji swung the sword to get rid of the blood of the hounds from the sword and walked towards the that that the hounds were looking at. It was a piece of Renji's cloth; he had thrown this to distract them and kill them in a very subtle manner.

-Level up-

"HAHAHAHA.. so much exp. I waited for this for so long how can I just let you guys live? I must become the sovereign of the throne." Renji laughed maniacally as he heard the sweet sound of leveling up. He had finally got the opportunity to fulfill his wish. How could he just let that slide away so easily? He wanted to kill all of the hounds to gain exp and level up.

[Thrones? Is that what you desire the most, is that what you dream of? Trust me if you just want the throne, you will be shocked as to what I will help you become. HAHAHAHA] Lisa started laughing maniacally as well after hearing Renji. Renji stopped his laughter as was confused.
