Bab 36: Grave of the Dammed
'What the hell? Is this a dream?' thought Renji as he looked around, he felt chills all over his body he didn't know if it was a dream or reality. He was left dumbfounded; he couldn't comprehend what sort of creature was capable of doing such a thing.
"This is not a dream boy neither are you dead, do you not feel pain all over your body? Do you not feel the pain when you drag your body on the ground like that? That should be proof enough for you to realize that this is reality. Although you might die anytime now, you do not have the luxury of time child." Siad the voice, the voice sounded as if Renji amused it.
'Can you save me? You couldn't even save yourself from this place. At the end of the day, this might just be our destiny me dying in this place and you rotting away for who knows how long.' Thought Renji as he smirked out of pity for himself and the unknown entity. Renji's mind became more muddled as he crawled towards his death.
"Haaah… What's destiny boy? No one has the control over my life, not even this place. If I wanted to, I could have entered your soul forcefully and lived as I wanted, but alas that is not what I seek. What I seek is my own body, I want to quench my thirst for revenge with my own body. For my dream to come true I need someone strong-willed, someone like you. I watched you crawling endlessly in a circle without giving up even once, in that perspective you and I are the same.
I will give you 2 choices either die or become someone like me who is hated by everyone. Do you want to live and die just because you think that's your destiny? Or do you want to destroy the world and destiny with me? The choice is all yours, I will open the way for you to come closer to me." said the voice, as soon as the voice stopped a different portal appeared in front of Renji, this time the portal seemed more menacing. The portal looked like a black hole, trying to devour the space around it.
"Hahhh.. HAHAHAHAHAHA…. If it means I can live my life the way I desire, I am willing to sell my soul to even the devil." Renji laughed like a crazy person as he started crawling toward the portal, he looked exactly like a maniac as he crawled. It seemed as if he wasn't even affected by the injuries he had on his body.
As soon as he went near the portal, he didn't even have to touch it, he was sucked in by the portal itself. As Renji opened his eyes, he was in a completely different space. He felt like he was floating, he turned his head to inspect the place all he saw was blood. Below him there was a sea of blood, the sky was crimson. There were many suns in this space, every one of them red like blood.
"Where are you? How are you going to save me? Wait wh…" said Renji as he looked around the space. To his surprise, no reply came but a small ball of light appeared in front of him as soon as he finished speaking.
"This is a soul oath; we will have to swear an oath before I save you. If you get something I naturally should get something in return too, that's how the world works. Nothing comes free in this world." Siad the voice as she chuckled.
"What oath do you need me to swear?" asked Renji as he didn't care what the voice wanted; he would fulfill it as long as he lived. He didn't care if he had to kill the gods themselves, all he wanted was to live at any cost.
"Swear that you will help me with my revenge." Said the voice.
"That's all?" asked Renji as he was confused that the voice only wanted to take her revenge and nothing else. He was sure the voice would demand something more precious but alas hearing what she wanted made him question her objectives.
"Child trust me you will regret making the oath with me if you knew my circumstances. I am hated by every entity in this world, you might have to kill everyone for me… HIHIIHI" said the voice as she laughed hysterically. Renji's expression didn't even change though even after hearing such a thing.
"I don't care who I have to kill as long as my loved ones are safe, I will be fulfilled." Siad Renji with a resolute voice, the voice that was laughing suddenly stopped hearing his words. She tried to say something but she was interrupted by Renji who suddenly started talking.
"I swear upon my soul that I will help you get your revenge." Siad Renji as he touched the ball of light in front of him. He didn't know what happened after he touched the light ball but he felt chills all over his body. This sensation was new for Renji as he had never felt something like this, there were no words that could describe the feeling that Renji just experienced.
'What the hell was that?' thought Renji as he looked at the ball of light with curiosity, he had taken his hands off the ball as he didn't like the sensation he got right after touching it.
"That was the oath settling inside of your soul, you are now bound by your oath as long as you live or as long as the oaths are fulfilled." Explained the voice as Renji was confused.
"Now, I shall swear upon my soul that I will help you survive the ordeal you are in now. I shall also grant you the power of mana, I shall grant you a power that has unlimited growth potential. I shall help you fulfill all of your wishes as long as I am with you." The voice swore, Renji started to feel his body tremble as he heard the oath. The voice in which she spoke seemed so powerful it shook Renji to the core, he just wanted to live but he was unexpectedly given power.
The ball of light disappeared as the voice finished her oath. Soon Renji felt something go through him, all he could feel was warmth all over his body. All of this happened so fast that Renji was confused as to what had just happened. Renji wanted to say something but he lost consciousness.
A few hours went by and when Renji finally woke up, he was in the middle of the dead forest, this was the same place where he had entered the portal.
'What was that just now?' asked Renji to himself as he checked his wounded leg and he was dumbfounded immediately, there were no wounds in his entire body but his clothes were torn to shreds like before he entered the portal. He looked around the place and found out that the hounds were still waiting for him to exit the dead region.
'Why are you afraid of that mut?' a voice suddenly came to his mind, Renji fell to the ground because of the shock.
