Bab 31: Oath
"Jack, what are you doing here? What do you want? Whatever it is that you seek please let that boy go, he is of no value to you." Said David after calming his mind, he wanted to make sure Renji was safe before all else. Renji was still on the ground without any movements, he was still breathing.
"What do you mean to let him go? This little guy is the most valuable thing for me right now, he will be a great bargaining chip until I have him in the palm of my hand. Anyway, all I want is for you to cooperate with me that's all and everyone gets to live." Said Jack while looking at Renji, David's heart dropped as soon as he heard what Jack said.
"Wha…. How am I here?" Renji said as he slowly woke up from being unconscious, he looked around the room and saw that David and Clara had a very serious look on their faces. He didn't understand what was going on so he looked at the couple for an explanation.
"Oh look, he finally decided to wake up from his sleep. I promise you his safety in return if you decide to help me with just a little project of mine." Said Jack as he looked at the elderly couple with a smile. As soon as he said that David's face became pale as if all the blood in his body was drained out suddenly. He had a small inkling of what Jack was about to ask for.
"What is it that you seek, just tell us, and do not dare lay a single finger on him." Said Clara with a very angry look on her face, unlike David, she had no idea what Jack was asking for.
"No, this can't be possible, is it related to the forbidden language? I thought I destroyed everything before leaving... how are you affiliated with them now?" asked David with a lot of confusion.
"Grandma who are they? If they are here to kill you please run away, don't worry about me. You can come back to save me after you are safe." said Renji as he tried to get up, he didn't understand what was going on. From listening in on their conversation Renji figured that he must have been captured to be used as a bargaining chip.
'This is all because of me.' thought Renji as he didn't want to burden them, the only reason they were living inside the forest was because they didn't want to involve themselves with the outside world. Now that Renji has been kidnapped, they have no choice but to confront the kidnappers.
"What? I had a son and even I don't know about it?" asked Jack with a surprised look on his face. Hearing what he said Renji was dumbfounded.
'He is their son?' Renji thought as he looked at the man named Jack.
"We will agree to do whatever you want as long as this boy is safe." Said David while he clutched Clara's hand, he had contemplated for a while before deciding. Clara suddenly looked at David's face and after looking at his resolute expression, she couldn't say anything else as she accepted his decision.
"Well of course that's a given as parents you should help your child with his problems. Now let's go then we have a lot of work to do, we can't waste our time loitering around this dump." Said Jack as he turned around getting ready to leave.
"Wait before we go we need to make sure you stick to your words and let this child live." Said David as he looked at Renji with very sad eyes.
"Oh? What do you propose we do then Dad?" asked Jack as he stopped walking after hearing David, he had a slight smile on his face.
"We make an oath." Said David, hearing the word oath Jack scoffed but still nodded in agreement.
"What are the terms you propose for the oath?" asked Jack.
"Do not harm this child in any way, if this kid dies because of you in any way this contract ends. I want to make this a blood contract, as long as our demands are met we will help you with whatever you want." Said David while staring at Jack's eyes. The moment Blood contract came out of David's mouth, everyone present at the scene had a goosebump go through their body.
"Bu…but honey, that contract is very dangerous." Said Clara as she couldn't help but break her silence after hearing what David said.
"Tsk alright ill agree to your….." Jack was speaking just when he was suddenly interrupted by a scream.
"You bitch what do you want from them? I'll kill you basta….AGHHHHH" Renji screamed and launched his body toward Jack, before he could even reach Jack his body stopped midair. Suddenly out of nowhere, Renji started feeling as if someone was trying to squeeze his lungs he tried to take a breath but he was unable to do so. While he was in that condition his body also started to feel like it was going to freeze any second.
Renji started to feel as if he was going to die any second, suddenly when his consciousness was about to fade away once more he suddenly felt relieved. He looked around and saw that Clara was looking at him with a smile as if she was saying 'It's alright don't worry.' His eyes started to water while looking at the helpless faces of the couple.
"Where was I again? Oh, yes I'll agree to your conditions only if you do your part sincerely. One more thing I do hope you have the contract with you as I do not have any myself, all who would have such a precious thing just lying around." Said Jack.
"Clara go bring the contract." Said David as he looked at Clara.
'Prepare some things that might help the brat, after we are gone.' Said David to Clara directly in her mind.
'Listen to me brat, after we leave go down to the basement. Enter the room where I never let you enter, there you will find some stuff that might be useful for you. Contact the animal kingdom, if you can do that go straight to the academy and live with your family. Promise me just one thing you won't tell anyone about what happened to us. If my people close to me find out about this they will surely jump to their death.
Just remember do not let anyone find out what happened, they are not powerful enough to face these 5 people. When they restrained you I could tell they were extremely powerful, even I ant guarantee my win if I fought one of them alone.' Renji heard David's voice in his head out of nowhere, he was startled but listened to him.
'I'll kill you all' These words started to cloud Renji's head as he looked towards the people who held him hostage.
Most of what David said to Renji just remained blurred, he started to cry and think about killing them. His mind went numb after a few minutes; he passed out suddenly after a few minutes. His mind couldn't take it anymore, he was torn apart from the inside.
