Bab 28: Big Decision-2

"There has been a nasty rumor going around, whenever we leaders have a meeting in the Continental Protection Summit, I hear something about a new very powerful cult or clan that had made an appearance." Said, Edward with a very serious tone.

"So, the topic is being raised inside the summit, that's a good thing if everyone joins forces you can easily take care of them." Said David with a leisurely expression.

"That's not the main problem, most of the summit think that this is nothing but just a rumor, even the 4 organizations at the top of the ladder still haven't confirmed or denied the rumors. That is why the summit is in chaos after the attack on the Iron Fang fortress.

From the rumor, I heard that some humans did the attack they used a device that uses mana to attract monsters. Something like that shouldn't be allowed to be made, if the attackers managed to create a device that can attract a s rank monster, even I don't think I can fight that thing off." Said Edward with certainty,

"That would bring about another disaster, if you find out anything about them contact me, ill like to help out as much as possible to take them down. We can't leave people like them alone, we have got to pour all our efforts into killing monsters and getting stronger, and we can't afford to be worried about what's growing in our backyard. If there is anything I can help you with, this is it I can only help you get rid of the snakes in your backyard." Said David as he looked straight into Edwards's eyes.

"This is it, I just wanted to hear this, I am sure with your and Clara's help we can uproot them in no time." Said Edward in a very excited voice, it was as if this was the only outcome he was hoping for after seeing David. Many different plans started to go through Edward's brain as he started contemplating the best course of action, while he was busy thinking David was just sitting on the sofa and contemplating what he should do to please his angry wife.

"You may enter." Said Edward with a solemn voice, Renji slowly entered the office. Both of them were confused upon seeing the little boy, they thought he would rather be with his family.

"I thought you would rather spend your time with your family after meeting them. What brings you to visit us old men?" asked Edward while stroking his beard.

"I…. I want to be strong like you and intelligent like Mrs. Clara, can I stay with you guys and learn about ancient languages and swordsmanship? I can cook and hunt small animals, I will help Mrs. Clara. I just want to grow stronger and be able to protect my family on my own, if I stay here I won't be able to do any of that, please take me with you back to the cottage." Said Renji with great convictions, he didn't want to stay here as he would be able to join the academy anyway.

There was a rule put in place in most of the academies that, they couldn't take in unawaken people as a student, as all the curriculums in the academy were tailored made for the unawaken people. That doesn't mean that there were no education systems for the unawakened people, there were also a lot of academies that taught the unawakened.

"Oh, you want to go back with David? Why is that? Although I can't make you an official student in the academy, I can surely give you a job at the academy. We have many un awakened doing odd jobs in the academy so that they can study inside the academy and gain access to the library." Said Edward with a gentle smile, although he didn't discriminate against those without power. He alone couldn't change the system of the academy, so he decided to let people like Renji work inside the academy and also gave them access to one of the continent's largest libraries.

"I made this decision after thinking a lot, I don't just want to become smart. I want to become someone so powerful that no one would dare to look at me in the eyes." Said Renji with such a level of resolve that was next to impossible to be seen inside someone at his age.

"HAHAHA so that's what you want. I must admit that's a very bold dream kid." Edward rejoiced after hearing Renji's words.

"What do you desire boy? What do you do by becoming stronger?" asked David with a very serious tone as he looked at Renji right in his eyes. To Renji, it felt like he was standing in front of a monster, any wrong move and he would die.

"I… hah…I want to become someone even the sovereign of thrones is afraid of; I want to become the strongest sovereign of the throne." Said Renji confidently, as if he wasn't sharing his dream but his future itself.

Hearing what Renji said made the entire office quiet, no one spoke for a few seconds after hearing Renji's words. Edward looked at Renji with a sad smile as he analyzed the boy.

'You have such a huge dream, but the world is too cruel it didn't even give a chance for you to bloom.' Though Edward was a little sad after seeing Renji didn't have any mana in his body, which only meant he was still unawakened. He had seen many children with such dreams, but alas it was just a dream for Renji as well, so he sighed in his heart.

'If I bring this runt home maybe she would forgive me, right? But, what if she thinks I kidnapped him again, no I can't do that. This time I am sure she would just kill me even before I enter the house.' David was contemplating what to do in this situation, he was conflicted.

"Haaaah….. I will be taking my leave for now. Make sure to message me if there is any trouble or if you find any lead." Said David as he started walking straight towards the door, he didn't even answer Renji's question.

'But…' thought Renji as he looked sad, he didn't any anything.

"I'll leave Ava here with the dean, you stay with your parents for a few days, and when you feel like it come back with Ava. Make sure your parents agree to your plan." Said David as he walked away, he flew towards the direction of the forest after talking to Ava.

Renji just stood there dumbfounded as he looked at the old man who was flying in the sky. This was the first time he had seen someone fly with his own eyes, there were only a handful of people who were capable of doing such things. He had seen them on the internet but not in real. As he looked at the disappearing figure, he started dreaming about the day when he would be able to do the same on his own. Even though how unrealistic his dream was he still believed in himself.

After bidding farewell to Edward he went towards his house, there were a lot of things he needed to talk about with his parents.
