Bab 27: Big Decision

"Here take this, tell your parents to drink this." Said David as he took out 2 vials of potions, the potions were red and just from one look anyone could tell, that those potions were very expensive. Renji was dumbfounded when he was offered to take those potions, for a few seconds he just looked at them.

"What is this?" Renji asked David as he had no clue what potion those were. They were standing outside Renji's house David had asked him to come out with him after they were done talking inside.

"This is called a recovery potion; these can heal your parents and remove the poison from their bodies. If they drink this potion they will be fit in just under a minute." Said David as he moved his hand towards Renji who was still not trying to take the potion.

"Bu…. But this seems very expensive. How can I just take these." Said Renji as he didn't want to trouble the old man any further, he had never heard of a potion that could instantly heal and remove poison. He had once tried to buy a potion to cure the poison in his parent's body but the price they asked was 500 Dollars for a single vail and he would have to buy 20 of those just to get rid of the poison in both of their bodies.

"Just take this kid, this is a gift from my wife. She stayed up all night just to prepare these for you." Said David with an annoyed face as he did not understand why Renji would hesitate so much when his parents were dying because of the poison.

"Just take it already, even if your parents take potion from the academy, they would be of lower grade than this." David took hold of Renji's hand and shoved the potion in his hand, after giving him the potion David walked back to the house as if nothing happened.

'Why are you so kind?' Thought Renji as he remembered the face of Clara, from the time they met she was nothing but caring for him. Holding the cold vails of potion Renji could feel his heart getting heavier as tears swelled up in his eyes.

One of Renji's goals was to earn enough money to help his parents recover from the poison and make sure his family was eating well. Both goals seemed like they were completed without needing Renji to put in any effort. Renji felt powerless in such a predicament, he was still powerless in front of the world, and he would be killed in an instant if anyone wished it.

'I want to get stronger...' thought Renji as he looked at the vails in his hand intensely. After thinking for a while Renji made a decision.

"Here Mom take this, this is a potion that can heal both of you from the poison." Said Renji as he handed over the vails to his mother's hand. Both Edward and David had left the house after a few hours of gossiping, they both had a great time but Edward had some important business to deal with so they went to his office.

"Huh? How did you get this?" asked his mother in bewilderment, she was confused as to how a child like him got something so precious.

"It is a gift from the nice grandma from the forest, you two should hurry up and drink this." Said Renju as he couldn't wait to see his parents become healthy once again after all this time.

"Okay…." Said Aiko hesitantly but after thinking she opened her vial and drank the potion, in an instant after drinking the potion a sudden mana burst from her body. After a minute or so, Aiko's skin started to look visibly different from before. Before drinking the potion, her skin used to look like a dead person's, her whole body and hand became pale as if her life was being drained slowly.

"Oh My… I can't believe this, I don't feel weak anymore. It feels like having poison in my body was just a dream, I feel alive. Here take this honey you should drink this too." Said Aiko was still holding the other vial in her hand all clutched up.

Without saying anything Renji's father softly hit his mother on the head, Aiko didn't say anything because she didn't think her intention would be figured out so easily by Ichiro. He thought she would consume the potion first to see if it was poison. So, she clutched the other vial in her hand until she was sure the potion was good for consumption.

"Huh?" Renji was confused about what was going on, but he didn't ask as he was just enjoying this moment with his sister in his arms playing with his hair.

"Mom, Dad I want to tell you something." Said Renji after chatting with his parents who were as good as new.

"There is a huge problem looming around, we all have no choice but to unite, but most of the people who agreed have only one goal in their mind. Most of them are seeking profit, whenever we have a meeting all I can see in their eyes is profit. I have no idea, until when this will go on but this will lead us to doom that is for sure. We need someone very good leading the group, but whenever we contact the sovereigns, he doesn't seem very interested." Said Edward as he looked very seriously at David who was sipping his tea nonchalantly.

"Why do you think Sovereigns would ever want to meddle between two Warring human factions? From his point of view, I think I would have made the same decision, those two are busy fighting each other while he is leading an army to keep this continent safe. It is better for him for him if both of them suffer heavily in the war and lose power, it would be easier for him to place his control all over the continent." Said David as if it was of no concern to him.

"Even still there must be someone who can stop this endless worthless fight, you can do it with a snap of a finger, so why do you refuse to raise your hand." Asked Edward furiously as he slammed the table in front of him. This was the first time since they arrived today that he was showing this side of him.

"While the threat of our extinction is looming over them, they care more for money than their life? I say leave them be, no need to get involved just let them kill each other. You should focus more on raising talents, we will need more talents who can rival the sovereign if we want to survive. I do not care for that two faction but there is one entity that worries me." said David as he looked tense after quite a while.

"Haha, you are still the same as always. I made the same decision; I was just testing if you had any changed opinion on this matter or not. Yes, there is concerning news that's what has been bothering me for a while now." Said Edward as he looked back at David with a troubled look.
