Bab 39: I need to get him alive!

I wasn't surprised to see that the house looked exactly as it did the last time I visited.

There were several rooms downstairs, but only the living area was furnished. I walked over to the couch and sat down.

Clyde reluctantly did the same.

His eyes darted around the room, his mouth opening slightly as he took in every detail of his surroundings. He's probably trying to memorize his surroundings in case we need them later.

I immediately got up so I could examine the floor.

The wood was clean; no footprints were left behind. I checked the fireplace, the tables, the chairs, and the floors.

"Why aren't you sitting, my lord?" He asked after a few moments of silence. "I know you want to wait for them to show up, but shouldn't you sit?" He asked as he pointed to the couch next to him.

"No." I replied curtly. "It's too easy for them to shoot any of us. I wouldn't want to be a sitting pup."
