"Who I am isn't important, but your connection is," he said as his gaze traveled over my body.

My cheeks grew warm under his stare, and I quickly looked away.

"Quit that shitty look on your face. It's demeaning and disgusting."

"Please forgive me for staring," he added. "I find you quite attractive and..."

I felt a shiver run through me as he trailed off.

I felt him move next to me, and then he took hold of my arm.

I gasped and pulled away from him.

"What are you doing?!" I demanded.

"You have pure moon blood in you," he said calmly. "You're in danger. Most especially with a full moon tonight."

"What do you mean?" I asked as I moved away from him.

"There is a man—a rogue beta—who has been searching for you for a month now. He wants you dead and will stop at nothing to get what he desires."

"Why?" I whispered.

"Because you have pure moon blood in you. That means you belong to a powerful alpha."
