Chapter 38

Lux furrowed his brow as he entered the condo room, feeling like he went unnoticed by Heart. What he immediately noticed was the open balcony door. Heart was sitting there, seemingly amused, her gaze fixed on the adjacent balcony.

He walked closer to the glass door and eavesdropped. He involuntarily clenched his jaw upon hearing a man's voice, telling a funny story that made the girl laugh. He couldn't go out, fearing that the person in the neighboring unit might recognize him. He had to be careful.

"I don't even know how to ride a bike. When I tried to ride one, I ended up going straight into the field because I didn't know how to brake," the man said with a laugh, but Lux didn't find it funny.

He was getting angry. He didn't want her talking to someone else. From now on, he didn't want anyone else getting her attention.

He cleared his throat and finally turned to Heart. Her laughter faded.
