Chapter 37

Heart smiled at Vandros as he escorted her to the condo. He assisted her to the elevator, but they had to stop when Enrico appeared. The man's face lit up with a smile when he saw her, but Vandros didn't look too pleased.

"You know him?" Vandros asked her discreetly, and she nodded in response.

"Heart," Enrico greeted her with a smile and approached quickly.

"What happened to you? It's been so long since I last saw you."

"I got sick, that's why. I was confined to the hospital."

"Ah, that explains it," he said, examining her. He seemed a bit under the influence of alcohol, but not too much.

"Excuse me, Enrico," she said and gestured to Vandros to enter the elevator.
