"What kind of assurance do you seek for?" Killian was the first to cut as he looked at Carmen coldly. The man smiled like always but Killian could see the fangs hiding behind that kind smile.

"A promise of trade would be fine for now. It would help both of our kingdoms in nurturing the bond and flourishing it too. We had borne enough loss of men and wealth in the war. Do you not agree, young lord." young lord! It was not an address but a reminder that he was only a child representing his father.

He should not speak more than required or it might raise the tension again. Killian's hand formed a fist beneath the table. 

"Trade would be hard since the borders were covered with an army. A civilian would not be able to infiltrate for trade. But if you find a way to supply us the silk and wheat, we will buy it for sure." what would be impossible again. So Killian did not mind accepting the man's opinion.
