Strange silence fell into the hall. Everyone looked at their table, more at Eve but there was no look of hesitation in her eyes. While Hazel was embarrassed her face was flushed and her grip on her dress tightened.
"My lady, you are not only accusing me but the lord. How can you be so merciless and barbaric to do so in public. What will the world think of you?" her voice rose an inch in the public, but it was so full of tears that no one could blame her for raising her voice.
"Barbaric, you say?" Eve raised a brow, laughing. "Do you not know that only families related to the royal family by blood and dukes are here? Anyone else is not allowed in the function. It is to honor the blood of the royal family and the members attached to it.
If you notice carefully, every family sitting here had either their daughters as the empress at some point or the princess married in their family. This feast honors them.
