"So, you can talk," Zac finally managed, his voice steadier than he felt.

The sword responded with a deep, masculine voice, carrying an air of ancient wisdom. "Yes, what about it? Is it your first time seeing a sentient weapon?"

Zac, attempting to regain his composure, chose to focus on the matter at hand. "Why are you chained here?" he inquired, curiosity etching his features.

A mischievous grin crossed the sword's metaphorical face. "You know, kid, that's not fair. I'm the only one answering your questions while you're not answering mine."

Zac paused, a wry smile forming. "Fine. Ask away. What do you want to know?"

"Good," the sword replied. "First things first—tell me how you ended up here."
