Bab 55: 50. Strong Showing

The fire in Sandro's eyes mirrored Kofi's. "We're not just here to compete. We're here to take over." Next Monday night, they would have their chance to prove it. The battle against The Empire was far from over, but Sandro and Kofi were ready for war. This wasn't just about tag team gold anymore—it was about legacy, pride, and the fight of their lives.

A week passed by in the blink of an eye, and the month entered October. The buzz surrounding the upcoming FCW live show had intensified with every passing day. Dragon Boom—Sandro and Kofi—were about to step into the biggest confrontation of their careers.

Their showdown with The Empire, Stu Sanders, and Drew McIntyre, had been hyped all over Orlando. Posters plastered across the city promised an explosive match, and FCW's social media had been running teasers nonstop. The stakes were clear: the rivalry between Dragon Boom and The Empire would headline the show, putting them in the main event.

For the past week, Sandro and Kofi had been preparing for the match with laser-like focus. Each day of training was grueling, with Drew and Stu joining them at the FCW Performance Center to work on perfecting every beat of the match. Despite their onscreen animosity, they knew the importance of making the confrontation feel believable.

It had to feel real, even to the most seasoned fans who had seen it all before. The timing, the rhythm, and the intensity needed to be spot-on. Every strike, every fall, every moment of the match had to build towards the climax where Sandro would finally break free from his restraints and save his partner.

"It has to be perfect," Sandro had said, wiping sweat from his brow after a particularly brutal training session. "If the fans don't believe it, the whole story crumbles."

Kofi nodded, adjusting the bandages on his hands. "They're gonna believe it. We just have to make them feel it."

The week of preparation flew by, but as Monday night approached, the tension among the wrestlers grew palpable. By the time they reached the FCW Headquarters Arena where FCW's live show would take place, the arena was already buzzing with excitement.

Fans were pouring in, filling the seats with homemade signs, and chanting the names of their favorite wrestlers. The air was electric, charged with anticipation. Tonight, Dragon Boom would step into the main event, and it would either cement their place as top contenders or crush their momentum.

As the wrestlers arrived, there was no shortage of backstage hustle. Production crews were setting up equipment, rehearsing lighting cues, and making sure every detail was locked in. Sandro and Kofi arrived early, exchanging greetings with the other wrestlers and crew members, but the weight of the night hung heavily on their shoulders. Both knew how important this match was—not just for their careers, but for the storyline itself.

"Main event, baby," Kofi said with a grin, giving Sandro a fist bump as they made their way to the locker room. "You ready?"

Sandro nodded, his mind focused. "Born ready."

Before they could settle in, though, they had to handle a few last-minute rehearsals. Dusty Rhodes and Steve Keirn were waiting for them near the ring, going over the night's script. Dusty, with his ever-present smile, clapped them on the back.

"Tonight's the night, boys," Dusty said, his Southern drawl rich with encouragement. "You two are about to show everyone what Dragon Boom is made of. The Empire's gonna come at you hard, but remember: you're the ones who are gonna steal the show."

Steve, ever the more serious one, added, "We've worked out every detail, but things can always change in the heat of the moment. Trust your instincts out there. You two know what you're doing."

The plan was the same as they'd rehearsed all week. Dragon Boom would hit the ring to address The Empire's attack from the previous week. They'd call them out, but before they could even reach the ring, Stu and Drew would ambush them on the ramp.

The attack would escalate, and Sandro would end up handcuffed to the post, forced to watch as Kofi faced a brutal beatdown in the ring. Sandro would struggle to break free, and when he couldn't, he'd spot the little girl in the crowd with the barrettes in her hair—the key to his eventual escape. It was all about the drama, about building to that moment when Sandro would break free and turn the tide.

After the brief rehearsal, the two headed back to the locker room to change into their gear. Their minds were on the match, but the night had other stories to tell before they got their moment in the spotlight.

As the show kicked off, the lights dimmed, and the opening pyro lit up the stage. The roar of the crowd reverberated through the arena as the opening music hit. The first segment of the night was reserved for April's promo.

She had just won the FCW Divas Championship two weeks prior, becoming the inaugural champion in a hard-fought triple threat match, and now she was stepping into the ring to address the fans.

April walked out, her title draped over her shoulder, her expression a mix of pride and determination. The crowd welcomed her with cheers as she climbed into the ring, grabbing a microphone to begin her promo.

"Two weeks ago," April began, her voice steady but filled with emotion, "I made history. I became the first-ever FCW Divas Champion. And trust me, it wasn't easy. I fought tooth and nail to get here, and now that I have this title, I plan on holding onto it for a long, long time."

The crowd popped at her declaration, chanting her name. April smiled, soaking in the moment. But as she continued, the familiar music of Nicole and Brianna hit, and the two women made their way down to the ring. The atmosphere shifted instantly.

Nicole was the first to speak as she entered the ring, cutting straight to the point. "Congratulations, April. You made history. But let's be real for a second—you didn't face the best competition last week. You won that title, sure, but you haven't defended it against either of us yet. So how about giving us a shot?"

Brianna chimed in, smirking. "Yeah, April. We all know you're good, but are you good enough to beat both of us?"

April didn't back down, her expression firm. "You two want a shot? Do you think you've got what it takes? Fine. But let's make one thing clear—I didn't come this far to lose to anyone. If you want a match, you've got it. But I'm not just defending my title against you two for fun. You'll have to earn it."

The tension between the women in the ring was palpable, and the crowd was eating it up. Nicole and Brianna stepped closer, sizing April up before backing off with sly smiles.

"Don't worry," Nicole said, her voice dripping with confidence. "We'll earn it."

With that, they left the ring, leaving April standing tall with her championship. The groundwork for another rivalry had been laid, and the Divas division was about to heat up in a big way.

Backstage, Sandro and Kofi watched the promo unfold on a monitor. The night was progressing exactly as planned, but their minds were still on their match. They knew the crowd was hot after April's promo, but it was their job to turn that heat into an inferno.

As the night continued, match after match, promo after promo, the anticipation for the main event built steadily. Fans were buzzing on social media, discussing the tension between Dragon Boom and The Empire. By the time the final segment of the night approached, the energy in the arena was at its peak.

The lights dimmed again, and Dragon Boom's music hit. The crowd erupted as Sandro and Kofi made their way down the ramp, their faces set with determination. This wasn't just another match for them—it was the culmination of everything they'd been working towards.

But just as they reached the middle of the ramp, The Empire's music blared through the speakers, and before they knew it, Stu and Drew came charging down from behind. The attack was brutal and sudden, catching Sandro and Kofi off guard. The fans gasped as the ambush unfolded right in front of them.

Stu and Drew wasted no time in taking control. They grabbed Sandro, dragging him toward the ring post and handcuffing him to it. Sandro struggled against the restraints, but it was no use—he was stuck, forced to watch as The Empire dragged Kofi into the ring to begin the beatdown.

The referee called for the bell, signaling the start of the match, but it was clear that Kofi was already in trouble. He fought back valiantly, using every bit of strength he had, but the numbers game was too much. Stu and Drew took turns beating him down, methodically wearing him out.

On the outside, Sandro continued to struggle, his frustration mounting. He pulled at the handcuffs, his muscles straining, but they wouldn't budge. He looked around, desperate for a way out, and that's when he saw her—the little girl with the barrettes in her hair, just as Dusty had planned.

Sandro called out to her, motioning for her to come closer. The crowd watched in awe as the girl approached the barricade, wide-eyed but brave. She handed Sandro one of her barrettes, and he immediately set to work, trying to pick the lock on the cuffs. The tension in the arena was palpable as the seconds ticked by.

Meanwhile, in the ring, Kofi was in serious trouble. Stu and Drew had him in the corner, delivering blow after blow, and it seemed like the match was all but over. The fans began to chant for Sandro, willing him to break free.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the handcuffs gave way. The crowd erupted in cheers as Sandro stood up, handing the barrette back to the girl with a quick, grateful smile.

He dashed toward the ring like a man possessed, and the atmosphere in the arena shifted instantly. The roar of the crowd grew deafening as Sandro, fueled by desperation and determination, slid under the ropes just as Stu and Drew were about to deliver the final blow to Kofi.

Drew, the first to react, swung at Sandro with a brutal forearm, but Sandro ducked and countered with a swift kick to Drew's midsection. The impact doubled Drew over, and without hesitation, Sandro grabbed him by the head and drove him face-first into the mat with a DDT. The crowd exploded as Drew rolled out of the ring, groaning in pain.

Stu, realizing the sudden shift in momentum, charged at Sandro, but Sandro was ready. With lightning-quick reflexes, he caught Stu with a spinning back elbow, sending him reeling backward. The Empire's dominance, which had seemed so insurmountable just moments ago, was crumbling before the fans' eyes.

Kofi, still dazed from the beatdown, reached out weakly for the tag. Sandro, sensing the perfect moment, rushed over and slapped his partner's hand, tagging himself into the match officially. The arena went wild. This was the moment they had been waiting for.

Sandro stormed back into the ring, going after Stu with a flurry of strikes. He landed a series of stiff kicks, each one drawing louder cheers from the crowd. Stu tried to block, but Sandro was relentless. With a final roundhouse kick to Stu's head, Sandro knocked the big man off his feet and into the ropes.

The crowd was on their feet now, the noise reaching a fever pitch. Sensing that victory was near, Sandro glanced at Kofi, who was slowly pulling himself up in the corner. Kofi, bruised but still full of fight, gave Sandro a nod. It was time to finish this.

Sandro hoisted Stu onto his shoulders, setting him up for their tag team finisher, the *Boom Drop*. Kofi, despite his injuries, climbed to the top rope, ready to deliver the final blow. But just as Kofi steadied himself, Drew—who had recovered on the outside—yanked Kofi's leg, causing him to lose balance and crash down hard onto the mat. The fans gasped in shock.

Sandro, still holding Stu on his shoulders, turned just in time to see Drew re-enter the ring. Drew launched himself at Sandro with a brutal lariat, sending both Sandro and Stu crashing to the mat in a heap. The Empire wasn't done yet.

The momentum shifted again, and The Empire began to regain control. Drew dragged Kofi to the center of the ring and threw him into the corner, then helped Stu to his feet. They exchanged a quick glance, and it was clear they were going for their tag team finisher, the *Empire Strike*—a devastating combination of Drew's running boot and Stu's powerbomb.

Drew charged at Kofi in the corner, aiming for his head with a vicious boot. But at the last second, Kofi ducked, and Drew's leg got caught on the ropes. Kofi, using every ounce of strength he had left, rolled out of the corner and tagged Sandro back in.

The crowd erupted once more as Sandro entered the ring like a freight train. He tackled Drew to the ground with a spear, knocking the wind out of him. Meanwhile, Kofi, using the ropes for support, staggered to his feet. The two members of Dragon Boom stood tall, feeding off the energy of the crowd.

They knew this was their moment. Kofi signaled to Sandro, and together, they set up for Kofi's Boom Drop once again but with a more devastating impact.

This time, there would be no interruptions. Sandro lifted Stu onto his shoulders while Kofi climbed to the top rope. With the crowd chanting their names, Kofi soared through the air, delivering a thunderous leg drop onto Stu as Sandro slammed him to the mat.

The impact shook the ring, and the referee dropped down to count.

One… Two… Three! The bell rang, and the entire arena exploded in celebration. Dragon Boom had done it. They had defeated The Empire in the main event of FCW Monday Night Live, and the fans were going wild. Kofi, barely able to stand, collapsed into Sandro's arms, both of them grinning from ear to ear as they soaked in the adulation of the crowd.
