The rewards and difficulty of a mission often correlate directly, if the difficulty suddenly surges without a change in rewards, congratulations, you might have stumbled upon a chain mission or a hidden mission.

These kinds of missions are often deeply concealed and require extensive exploration. They are extremely challenging and tend to weed out the majority of players unlikely to complete them early on. For an average player, killing thousands of Insect Soldiers for a mere reward of 8%-10% combat experience is clearly not worth it. With the same effort and energy, one could gain more Experience Points by grinding on lower-level monsters and do so much more safely than hunting Insect Soldiers.
