The waves rolled in, and seagulls skimmed across the beach, squawking loudly. It seemed as if they knew that this earth was their final resting place but still yearned for the beauty of heaven.
The wind blew, chilling the face.
Tears were scalding hot.
Shen Yue looked at the tears on Li Yawei's face, silently offering her a handkerchief. Li Yawei took it and wiped away her tears, but she made no move to return it.
"I can help you with other things. But when it comes to telling your mother that you love her, since you regret not having said it earlier, why don't you say it now?" Shen Yue said quietly.
Li Yawei fell silent.
"Don't despair, perhaps you can make another wish," Shen Yue suggested. "The one who granted your wish might allow you more time." The face of the parachuting woman flashed across his mind.
Li Yawei was incredulous. "I couldn't be so greedy."
Why? Why would it be greedy to make an extra wish for her life? Shen Yue didn't understand.
