"We trust you, sir," they both replied in unison. "We will do everything to save our son."

"Great," Bruno said softly. "Since you no longer have a home, I'll get you out of the underworld. I'll take you to my home, where you can live peacefully, have as many children as you want, and rebuild your clan."

Both widened their eyes at the same time as the fey on the sword, who had been listening, startled by this new information.

Bruno looked them in the eyes and spoke seriously. "As for your son, I'll save him and take care of him for a while. Don't worry, he'll be well cared for; when I have another opportunity, I'll send him back to you. It's the only way I can imagine."

They both forgot to breathe. After a few seconds of silence, the couple turned and exchanged looks without saying a word. Yanson nodded, and Lirelia turned, gazing deeply at Alm and Bruno.
