Despite the great improvements in this month, Li Tian refocused his sights on improving his Stats once again. There was only five months left before his deadline for the locked mission. He needed to unlock this mission as soon as possible so that he could begin his Qi circulation at once.
It didn't take long for Li Tian to reach the E Tier for Agility and Perception. When all his Stats had arrived at the E Tier, the little baby started to feel a qualitative change in his body. Although, there was a layer of baby fat on his body, Li Tian felt like he could easily rival toddlers of ages 2 to 3 years old. Maybe it was his confidence, but Li Tian leveraged on the chair that his mother sat on and pulled himself up. He was standing!
Li Xian's eyes widened in surprised. This little devil was once again able to exceed her expectation. It wasn't long ago that Li Tian started crawling. Now, he was able to stand up, even though it was with the help of a chair. Not wanting to waste this opportunity, Li Xian swiftly got up and squatted by the door of her chambers.
"Tian Er, Tian Er, come to mummy! Come!" Li Xian beckoned for her little boy to walk over.
Li Tian noticed his mother's enthusiasm. He smiled widely and tried his best to balance without holding onto the leg of the chair. Contracting his stabilizer muscles in his hip and glutes, Li Tian stood standing proudly. He smirked like the cheeky cocky baby that he was. He must be the most talented baby to ever live!
"Tian Er, good job! Come walk over to mummy!" Li Xian clapped with enthusiasm. She waved her little boy over with her open arms. "Mummy will catch you if you fall! Don't worry!"
Seeing that his mother was expectant of his walking, Li Tian did not want to disappoint her. With a stable footing, Li Tian moved his clumsy body forward. Using whatever muscle he had in his legs, he made sure that he does not fall over. The grown man in a baby's body had long forgotten what it felt to learn how to walk. Luckily, ever since he had reached E tier in all of his Stats, Li Tian's body was responsive to his decision making. The little guy could even move his toes independently now, which helped to steady his footing for ever step.
As Li Tian got closer and closer to Li Xian, the proud mother's voice got louder and louder, "Yes, my baby! Yes! That's it! You're almost there! Just three more steps to mummy!"
3, 2, 1. Li Tian reached and fell into his mother's arms. Exhausted by his absolute concentration, Li Tian naturally chose to cling onto her mother's warm embrace. Speaking of warm embraces, Li Tian had figured out how and why he felt his mother was like a warm campfire every time he was beside her. Li Xian had the fire element affinity. Her Qi circulation within her body must've made use of the fire element mana in the air. As such, her body underwent a qualitative change. When Li Tian was born, the coldness of her newborn son worried her. Without hesitation, she circulated whatever remaining Qi she had in her body to help alleviate the coldness in Li Tian. A mother's love was unfathomable. Li Tian enjoyed being around his mother. If he could be by her side forever, he would not hesitate to do so.
Li Xian saw how tired her baby boy and soon coddled him to sleep. She sang a familiar lullaby as Li Tian allowed for his exhaustion to wash over his body. There was a time for training and there was also a time for rest. Now, Li Tian deserved a break.
At night, Li Tian woke up from nice slumber. The boy had slept from afternoon all the way till now. Li Xian noticed that her baby had finally awoken and knew it was feeding time. Li Tian robotically reached for his mother and starting drinking slowly. Since there was a mother and son bond between them, Li Tian felt nothing wrong between this interaction. To him, this was normal. When he was finished, Li Xian helped to pat her baby's back to help him burp.
Recently, the couple had discussed about how they felt that Li Tian was too abnormal of a baby. Very rarely do you hear him cry. If he was hungry, all he would do was make some noise and the two of them would know. If he pooped, he would make a different noise and the two of them would know that he had pooped. This was the easier post-birth experience that Li Xian had. Even when she discussed with her mother, Jing Hui Lan would display a look of surprise.
If it were not for the doctor's assurance, the couple would have thought that Li Tian was a mute.
"Urghhh…"
Li Tian released a burp for her mother to hear. With a subtle yawn, Li Xian thought that her little boy wanted to sleep more after drinking some milk. She placed him back in the crib and gave him a loving kiss on the forehead, before heading back to her bed. Today, Ming Guang Rong was on night duty and so, she and Li Tian were the only one in the quarters tonight.
As it was getting late at night, Li Xian decided to call it a night and fell asleep. Li Tian peeped through the gap in the crib. He saw that his mother was facing the other way and sleeping soundly. Knowing that this was a good opportunity to try out Qi circulation for the first time, Li Tian sat in a cross-legged position, just like he had seen in the animes.
The first step to Qi circulation should probably be to detect and feel for the Qi or more commonly known as mana in the air. The general information provided by the system stated that with a great amount of focus, those that have mana affinity should be able to detect the first presence of mana when they are age five. However, this logic does not apply for Li Tian as he had raised his Perception to E tier, which is usually not possible for a young baby.
Normally, for little children, the Perception trait was the hardest to train in the beginning. At a young age, babies and toddlers have yet to develop a proper consciousness that can coherently piece information together. It was the reason why people very rarely remember what happened before the ages of three to four. And even if they do remember, the memory is not exactly clear.
In addition, having memory does not mean that their comprehension ability is even developed. This comprehension skill is directly linked to Intelligence and so, most babies and toddlers, if not all, cannot understand the concept of muscle contractions or other anatomical phenomenon.
Li Tian focused up and pushed his boundaries in perceiving mana. Since this was no longer his old world, Li Tian threw away some of the logic he had learnt in the past. Mana was not something he could see with his eyes. It was probably not something he could physically feel. Mana or Qi was something he needed to perceive with his body and mind. Over time, within an hour of cross-legged meditation, Li Tian entered a trance-like state. He started to feel like his consciousness has started to dissipate from his body. His consciousness started to explore his surroundings. Although he still couldn't see what him was around, this was a big step forward.
Soon enough, a magical moment happened. The pitch-black darkness started to get invaded by small, tiny orbs. These orbs glowed in different colors. The orbs floated around Li Tian as if it were attracted to his body. He counted the number of different colors. One, two, three, four, five, six! It didn't take long for Li Tian to connect the colors to the six different elements. So, it seemed that Li Tian had successfully perceived mana. The first step was successful!
Now, the second step was collecting these mana orbs. The process of Qi circulation began in the lungs. And so, it was important for Li Tian to intake these orbs first through his respiratory tract. Concentrating again, Li Tian focus on one or two orbs that were closer to him. He willed his consciousness to attract the mana orbs forward. As if it was an obedient pet, the orbs followed Li Tian's consciousness. Eventually, as it entered Li Tian's body, a mana orb soon entered Li Tian's lungs. Another success!
Li Tian got excited and swiftly began the third and most important step. The circulation of Qi! Over the past few days, while improving his Perception stat, Li Tian had familiarized himself with the overall Qi circulation route. He practiced the circulation by pointing out the different organs that he needed to circulate the Qi towards. From the lungs, the Qi moves to the large intestine, followed by the stomach, then to the spleen, heart, small intestine, bladder, kidney, pericardium, triple energizer, gall bladder, liver and finally, back to the lungs. The route was practiced so many times that Li Tian himself can already do it without a thought.
