Bab 39: Chapter 39: Invitation
In the shadowy expanse of the unconscious void, I am enveloped by a profound stillness, a silence so dense it echoes in the emptiness. The absence of form and substance leaves me adrift in an abyss of nothingness, where time becomes an abstract concept, lost in the endless depths.
In this desolate realm, there is no sensation, no discernible emotion; only the echoes of my own existence reverberate in the vast, silent expanse. It's a solitary descent into the obsidian depths of the mind, where the boundaries between self and nothingness blur into a seamless obscurity.
Admist this darkness, ten figures darked than the black void im in were surrounding me. They were expressionless, no features at all just shapes and darkness. Suddently the void I am in started shaking and the ten figures disapeared at once.
I felt a big presence surrounding me, and as I tried to look around me. I woke up.
"Oh, your finally awake?" A familar voice was heard next to my head.
'What was that... I know for a fact that I had a dream but I can't remember.' I tought rubbing my eyes.
Trying to see where I was everything seemed blured, and only after blinking a few times that I was able to see who is next to me. I saw all of my family as well as Ash and Lucy surrounding the bed next to me.
"How are you feeling Meliodas? Can you tell us what happpened? Can you move now?..." Dad was firing me with a lot of questions.
"REY! Cant you se he's tired, let him rest first!" Mom smacked dad at the back of his head.
"Your right hehe." He rubbed where he was smacked.
Looking around, I didnt realise where I am or the bed im sleeping on, so I asked. "Where am I?"
"Your at a hospital in the city honey, your friends brought you here." She turned to Ash and lucy before lookng at me again.
Looking around me I saw the multiple beds with patients lying on them, turning my head to look at my friends. "Thank you guys, you saved me there." I said with a warm smile.
"No worries man!" Ash nodded his head.
"We got your back, Mel! We're a team!" She enthusiastically expressed.
"Honey, how do you feel now?" Mom got closer to my face with a worried expression.
"Im fine mom, I wasn't hurt much. It's just that I was so exhausted and passed out, nothing to worry about." I lied to her since all of my injurirs were healed by now, there was no need to tell her the truth.
"Big Brother, I was so worried about you!" Ellie jumped in the conversation, her hands barely reaching the bed, red faced with tears on the edge of her eyes threatening to fall at any moment.
Placing my hand on her head I said. "Sorry to make you worry Ellie, this big brother deserves a punishement for worrying you right?" I smile softly at her cute face.
She quickly shook her head. "No! Its okay! Ellie forgive big brother, just be safe please!" The tears flew out of her eyes because of her head movement
"Thank you, I will try to be more prudent in the future." I replied, gaining a approvement nodd and a cute "Un" from my little sister
"So my dear son, when are you going to tell us what happened and what monster did you defeat?" Dad had a big smile on his face after seeing the siblings conversation.
"Well, I actually defeated a Hell Minotor with the hel..." As I was about to continue, Dad shouted almost choking on his own saliva.
"WHAAT? A HELL MINOTOR? Isn't that a A rank beast? Just what the hell did I give birth to...? He said, mumuring the last sentence under his breath.
Ignoring my father's sudden excitement, mom calmly asked. "Meliodas, can you tell us what exactly happened?" Her worried expression grew even more.
Then I started telling them what exactly happened, of course skipping a few parts of the story to not let them get worried about me. After that my mom desperatly tried to convince me to come back home and stop this activity.
But seeing how determined and dedicated I am into this, she ended up giving up. After a few hours my family left while Ash and Lucy were still here with me.
Arthur and Jasmine came too to visit me with his stupid mask, they brought fresh fruits for me and of course I didn't miss the opportunity to tease Art for his appearance.
Later after that, just as I tried to sit up, the door creaked open, and a tall distinguished man entered. His regal attire and the emblem of the kingdom marked him as the royal messenger. With a deep bow, he approached my bedside, a scroll in hand.
"Dear adventurer Meliodas." He began, his voice carrying an air of authority. "I bring tidings from the King." The messenger's eyes bore the weight of the message he carried.
He unrolled the parchment, and his words echoed through the room. "For your valor in slaying the Class A Mana Beast Hell Minotor and clearing his dungeon, and reaching the esteemed rank of AA rank adventurer, His Majesty, King Blaine, extends his most heartfelt congratulations and gratitude."
'Wait... Am I a rank AA advenrurer now? Did this happen while I was out?' I looked at Lucy and she seemed to have a proud look and Ash had a calm smile on his face, as if they already knew.
As he spoke, I noticed the emblem of the kingdom on the scroll, signifying the royal seal of approval. The messenger continued. "Your bravery is an inspiration to all in the realm. The kingdom celebrates your accomplishments, and expects great things from the youth of the kingdom like you."
With a respectful nod, he placed the scroll on the bedside table. The messenger then presented the small chest, elaborately decorated with intricate carvings and adorned with precious gemstones. "In recognition of your remarkable deeds, His Majesty has also sent you a token of his esteem."
With great care, he opened the chest revealing a magnificent glistening amulet, intricately designed and pulsating with magical energy. "This amulet is a symbol of the King's favor and protection. May it serve you well in your future adventures."
The messenger closed the chest and placed it next to the scroll. "The King's gratitude knows no bounds, and he eagerly anticipates your full recovery. When you are able, a grand celebration in your honor awaits in the royal court. Until then, rest and regain your strength, adventurer."
With that, the messenger departed, leaving me to reflect on the remarkable achievement I did and the precious gift from the king that now rested beside you. As he turned to leave he looked at Ash and Lucy, but glancing at Lucy his expression completely changed.
His face became darker for a second, then he controled himself and walked out as if nothing happened, the other two didn't notice this since they were looking at me, but I saw it clearly.
"Something feels off... I need to be careful." I spoke to myself.
"What was that?" Lucy said getting her face close to mine.
"N-nothing... You'll be coming with me guy to the party, right?" I asked with a big smile.
"Heeeh~? What are you talking about? Of course we're going. We can't let you get all the credit for yourself, can we?" Ash had the same big smile.
"Hehe, wherever your going, I'll be with you Mel!" Lucy smile completly closed her eyes, as she gave me a thumbs up.
"Hahahaha!" x3 We all laughted together.
