Bab 46: Sarissa

"You failed to catch him, Morphos. Looks like he's a fast one."

Close to the figure, another person appeared, with a height similar to the other. They appeared through the space.

Lightning struck another location in the forest, radiating the whole area with white radiance.

In the sky, floating thanks to the ring, Leviathan saw another figure up in a tree. This person looked like they were sitting on the tree's top, bathing in the rain.

"Who are you, And why are you attacking me?" Leviathan asked from the figure below.

"Why, don't you know?" said the figure who appeared through the space.

But at that moment, another lightning bolt spread through the clouds, making the area visible for a moment, and Leviathan managed to see the figure who spoke. Similar to the one he saw before, another figure was standing on the highest point of a tree.

Aside from her voice, Leviathan figured out she was female by the long hair waving behind her due to the wind caused by the rain.

"It's indeed us. We are the Ascended Ones," a heart-piercing voice was heard from close to Leviathan. He suddenly looked back toward where the other two figures were.

But as he turned, he saw a figure appear in front of him through the space.

The figure had a body that completely resembled a human one, but the key difference was that throughout his entire body, clearly recognizable nerves ran everywhere, and his body seemed to be dark green.

As soon as he appeared, he landed a powerful strike on Leviathan, which even managed to clear out the falling rain in the area with its force.

Caught off guard, Leviathan fell rapidly towards the ground.

The ground shook, and the place where Leviathan fell created a huge crater.

The figure who struck him jumped down and walked toward Leviathan.

Before the figure could get close, Leviathan stretched out his hand on the ground and with force, he shot toward the sky. Simultaneously, he moved his hand towards his waist, similar to a knight putting a weapon in their waist. However, there was no visible sword in his waist.

Surprisingly, when his hand got close, the space around that area trembled, and

With a swing, he pulled out a long, dazzling sword from thin air.

"You can try," he exclaimed, looking toward the figure.

The swing from his sword launched a projectile toward the figure below, which he easily blocked with one hand.

Looking at the sword, which he wielded in Avlora, Leviathan had a quick flashback about his time in Avlora.

"Sarissa, let me wield you one more time to strike down my enemy," with his eyes closed, he muttered.

At that moment, the sword began to glow with a platinum blue color, as if it were in harmony with him.

Bending down, Leviathan launched another few projectiles toward the figure below.

The figure crushed all the projectiles using his hand, leaving only one, the last one.

Facing the last one, he didn't resist it; he stood still and let it land on him.

Crack!

Making a sound similar to glass breaking, the projectile broke as it landed on his body, leaving his body unscathed.

"Are you kidding me? Is this your attack?" he asked, looking at Leviathan.

"Wait, if I think about it, your attacks might be strong, but because of how overwhelmingly strong we are, they're too weak to us," he continued.

"Keep blabbering," uttered Leviathan as he extended his hand toward the figure.

From his fingertip, a small fireball appeared, and in an instant, it grew to the size of a human head.

The fireball lunged toward the figure.

"Garthor," the other figure, whose name is Morphos, called ouy.

"Don't worry; it's just a fire spell. I don't think it will do any harm to me," and just as he said, when the fireball hit, it spread around his body, burning it. However, in a few minutes, it disappeared, and what remained was an uninjured Garthor.

"How..." Leviathan's gaze was filled with questions.

"What can I say, I'm that much stronger," Garthor said with a smug look on his face.

Unbeknownst to Leviathan, the female figure who stood upon the tree leaped high into the sky and vanished.

With Sarissa in his hand, Leviathan easily cut through the trees that approached him. However, hiding among these trees, another figure dashed toward him.

As the figure got close, he put one of his feet on the figure's face and tried to push him back. However, the figure's sprinting force was more powerful than Leviathan had thought, and failing to push him back, Leviathan was launched backward toward the high in the sky.

With the powerful force he was pushed back with, Leviathan circled in the air due to the momentum.

As Leviathan tried to stop his rotation in the sky, he saw something shining above him, heading toward him with fast speed.

It soon got closer, and the figure of the female figure appeared. Leviathan was still rotating even at that moment.

Targeting Leviathan, she moved one of her legs forward, as if preparing to kick him.

When she was inches away from him, a white radiance began to glow around her body. She then launched a kick towards Leviathan's face.

At the same time, Leviathan, who was still rotating, pulled his sword during one of his rotations and swung it.

Before the female figure's kick could land on Leviathan, his sword struck her face.

"Eugh!" A tiny scream came from her mouth, and at the same time, he kicked her while still rotating, managing to throw her away. With that kick, he flipped back and balanced his body.

After regaining his balance, he looked at the girl, but right in front of his eyes, she turned into ashes-like substance and floated away in the wind.

Leviathan looked below and saw four figures standing there, all of them looking at him.

The girl who turn into ashed is also among them.
