Sera began with giving him true information, so Edric ended up believing her next words, much easier than the previous because he had already gathered proof about her first claim, and verified it as true. She mixed truths with lies.

Thus, in her next claims, though Edric still tried to verify things, he believed Sera and the evidence she showed him much easier than the first.

Sera's moves and her words were calculated.

It was likely indeed a scheme so Edric would divorce Loreen himself.

"Yes, now that I know the truth, I think she may have indeed intentionally misled me so I would part with you," Edric agreed.

"You believe me?" Loreen perked up. 

"I do. I already believe you about the issues we have cleared up earlier.

But you see, Sera's strategy was using the truth first, so I would end up letting my guard down, and believing her next words.

Thus, her first claim is true.
