Bab 128: The battle begins (part 2)

The others shouted and screamed before they rushed towards the building—this time, not silent and stealthy but a frontal, open charge.

"...Valor in battle," a soft whisper echoed from the room before silence once more reigned. The charging knights continued, and just as they were about to reach the entrance, powerful, loud shouts and battle cries came from the shadows.

With it, a group of people jumped out from the shadows; they appeared like ghosts. The attacking knights were caught off guard, and while outnumbering the defenders, the moment of surprise enabled the four men who had jumped out of the shadows to inflict injuries on their enemy.

"Aghh!" the screams of the wounded echoed through the street. The sneak attack was effective, and a few of the wounded stumbled backward. Of the seven men who rushed forward, three were peak Man-at-arms (Rank 1), and four were late-stage Man-at-arms (Rank 1) knights.
