3rd person POV
After Mikael sets out on his life mission to chase after his bastard son, peace once again dawns over the peaceful lands of the village that will one day be called Mystic Falls. However this peace did not last long. About fifty years after the Original family abandoned Mystic Falls, a supernatural phenomenon emerged. Crops start dying one after another before they can be harvested. Trees and flowers wither away before they can fully mature. Villagers who live there all die before the age of thirty. And after that people started avoiding Mystic Falls and called it a 'cursed land'.
[Timeskip: 200+ years later, 13th Century, 1239]
After years of silence in the 'cursed land', a bright, neon green light starts sipping out of the grounds of the 'cursed land'. Slowly, the light became brighter and brighter and the remaining life forms left there all dried up like mummified corpses. All of the green particles shot forward from their bodies and towards the source of the light. Fully charged with life force energy the pendant that rested on the neck of a skeleton buried underneath the ground, shattered into pieces. Upon shattering into pieces, green particles engulfed the whole skeleton. Within seconds, flesh started to cover the skeleton as a human figure started to form. Hair started to grow first, followed by his features and finally his whole complexion returned to normal, indicating that blood had started to flow.
MC's POV
Gasp!
An electric current-like sensation suddenly surged through my dead body, snapping my dead eyes open.
As I suddenly sat up straight, I found myself drenched head to toe in dirt.
"Ow...What the hell happened?" I muttered, massaging the migraine of a headache.
What is the last thing I remember? The last thing I remember was...Mikael!
And then it dawned on me.
Holy shit! I am dead! Mikael killed me. Am I in Hell?
However, before I could have time to process my death, a brilliant red light shot out of my now shattered pendant, illuminating the area around him.
"Hey, if you're getting this message. Congratulations, you're dead. However, thanks to me, this pendant would have revived you. The pendant revives you by absorbing the life force from its surroundings. So, by the time you're resurrected, probably a few centuries have passed and the environment around you will probably be destroyed." A familiar voice started speaking in my mind.
Centuries? My body froze, and my mind became blank.
"Now, I know it's a lot to take in but I need your body to absorb lots of Mana in the air so that when you come back to the land of the living you can utilise the spells I am about to impart to you at the end of this recording." He paused for a moment before continuing, probably since he also remembered he was also shocked when he first learnt that centuries had passed since he died.
"Before you ask what Mana is, let me finish. When you were transmigrated into this body, I should have already set up your body with 'Magic Circuits'. This magic circuit will allow you to summon Mana from the air to cast spells. Yes, spells like those from Harry Potter."
"W-what?"
Opening his mouth, like a goldfish, I listened to his words in shock
Me? Magic? Am I supernatural now?
"Before I impart my knowledge of spells, you need to find the sack I gave you when you came here to this universe. In the sack, there is a locked chest which should have been unlocked by the time you awoke from your grave. In the chest, there is a wand and spellbook that contain the rest of the spells I can't impart to you. And remember Cassius. Our strength, our powers. They originate from our emotions. Good luck. May the Mana be with you."
Immediately after the last words were spoken, the light gradually dimmed, and the red light flew into me. Before I had time to yell out in surprise, memories of how to pronounce and do spells popped up in my head. It was like files were being downloaded into my brain all at once.
Once my migraine subsided, without wasting time, I scrambled up to my feet and raced off to where I had hidden the sack.
...
Finding the sack was not an easy task as a lot has changed since I last stepped into the forest near the village. Now the scenery looks like a wasteland straight out of a comic book. The grounds were no longer filled with grass and flowers, making my life difficult since there's no distinct feature to help me locate where my sack is.
Just when I was about to give up, I spotted a withered, hollow tree that was on the verge of death. Knowing I had hidden somewhere near that hollow tree, I dug around the hollow tree to find the sack.
Several minutes later, I finally found my sack which brought a smile to my face.
Taking out the locked chest my future self mentioned, it unlocked itself automatically with a click, revealing a rectangular box and a thick and old magic spellbook.
Opening the rectangular box first, an obsidian black wand revealed itself to me. The handle of the wand had a spiral shape similar to the mythical world serpent Jormungand, which coiled around the whole Earth. And on the bottom of the wand is a black marble that looks like it was made out of pure darkness. It was simple yet sophisticated.
(A/N: Cash's Wand)
Looking at this beauty, I can't help but smile ear-to-ear.
After a few moments of admiring this beauty, I rubbed my hands together in excitement and grabbed hold of my future wand. As I picked up my wand, something amazing happened. Power that I had never felt before flooded my entire being as an emerald green hue emerged from itself. The emerald green hue glowed even brighter as it wrapped around my body like a cloak. After a while, the light dimmed as if signalling that it had accepted me as its new master.
Cool.
(A/N: Cash's Spellbook)
A smile adorned my face as I picked up my second gift. Flipping through the magic spellbook. I came to an understanding. There are four types of spell. The first one is 'Battle Magic' which has already been implanted in my head. The second is 'Enchantment Magic' which deals with mental and illusion spells. The third is 'Transmutation Magic' which is basically the use of transfiguration and conjuration from Harry Potter. The final one is where things get trippy. The final one is considered to be forbidden by my future self and is called 'Chaos Magic'. It consists of Horcruxes, The Killing Curse, Life Absorption Magic, Creation Magic and many more.
Intrigued by the type of magic, I wanted to read more but a rumbling in my stomach stopped me.
"Ah. Nature calls." I said to no one in particular as I put all my things back into the sack and walked towards the nearest village to find food and hopefully a comfy place to stay in.
A/N: Sorry if you think having a Wizard MC is cliché but I really want to do a Wizard in TVD fanfic.
