The two of them ran for their lives, though they didn't know how long they'd been running for. The sun was overwhelmingly bright, making faces uncomfortably hot, and after a while they got hungry. Xiao Qian dragged Shi Yu into the bushes and opened up the package, revealing roast chicken and steamed buns.

"Boss Qian, why do I feel like something is wrong?" Shi Yu asked Xiao Qian between bites of roast chicken.

"I also feel something is strange... Was the mountain path this difficult when we were coming?"

Xiao Qian tried hard to remember. They had arrived by car, so the road shouldn't have been this hard to navigate. So why was the road now filled with puddles and rocks?

And after all this running, everything was too quiet. Had nobody come chasing after them?
