Jaylene looked up to see that Joseph was holding a box of FeelUltraThinExtraLube, apparently engrossed in the instructions on the back of the box.

Jaylene's face instantly turned red. How could she not have realized just how thick-skinned Joseph could be?

So embarrassed, she muttered, "He's just looking at it, he's not going to buy it. Besides, he and I..."

"He has opened the packaging though, who just 'checks out' stuff like that?" the cashier interrupted, eyeing her skeptically.

Jaylene looked up to see that Joseph had indeed ripped open the sealing tape and was lifting the lid of the box, seemingly intent on checking whether the contents were intact.

"Miss, it's $203 in total. Can you hurry up? Can't you see there are still people waiting in line behind you?"

Jaylene, irritated, whipped out a hundred dollar bill and a twenty, completely disregarding the cashier's disdainful face.
