Bab 34: Chapter 34 : Complicated feelings

I wake up to a throbbing in my arm and pain in my neck and shoulder. Juliet is still curled up against my chest and is the cause of my arm falling asleep and to blame for the uncomfortable position I fell asleep in.

Rolling toward her, I am able to shift the bed enough to pull my arm out from under her. Shaking my arm, trying to wake it up, I slip out of bed quietly so as not to wake Juliet. With my arms stretched above my head, I inhale slowly with a small smile.

The sun is shining as I make my way out of the house. I don’t like that I am leaving but holding Juliet and helping her last night has further awakened my feelings and I’m not ready to embrace them yet.

I make sure to grab my tool bag this time as I head to my car. The drive home is quiet; no one is out in town yet. My internal clock woke me up around 5 a.m. and although part of me wanted to stay in bed and go back to sleep, for many reasons, I forced myself to get up and get out of Juliet’s house.
