Viola's smile disappeared and she soon understood what he meant.
"Do you suspect that I have something to do with the kidnappers?"
"Of course, I didn't mean that. How could Viola do such a thing? But that woman is so suspicious that I have to look into it."
Viola got out of the way. "Check it out, but I just came from the safe passage and didn't see any suspicious nurses. Maybe they ran in the other direction."
"Just look and see if there are any suspicious people."
He vigorously pushed open the door, directly into the safe passage, and there was no one behind the door. But he did not know who placed a pair of small white shoes on the ground.
The safe passage upstairs and downstairs was so quiet that there was no sound.
Jerry's eyes fell on the shoes, his face cold, and he did not speak.
Viola noticed his gaze and bent down to pick up the shoes.
The soles were as clean as new, without any mud.
