Bab 77: A Calculated Move

Bella nodded, surprised by the care they put in saving the lives of a human. But there was heaviness in her chest she could not explain. Her eyes dimmed, making him chuckle.

"And I took blood from a man if it is any relief." he laughed, "and it is not just me, rarely a vampire has two blood slaves of opposite gender. Though a few of them still enjoy many partners." he shrugged and laid on the bed using his left hand as the pillow.

He pulled her in his arms and she obliged easily. She placed her head on his chest. How surprised she was that she could not hear the beating there. His right hand wrapped around her waist and he sighed.

"I have already refused Diana for you. Why would you doubt that I will meet other women behind your back?" That was not the question. The question was why did she care? It was all an act, then why did his touch feel so real.
