Bab 168: Chapter 167: Revenge
Orion, in a sinister tone, sneered, "Heh, just one of you left. Why don't you come and meet your doom?" Without giving him any response, Li Yang turned to Lyria, his eyes burning with passion. "I'll repay them tenfold for what they've done to you." Even before Lyria could voice her concern, Li Yang had vaulted himself onto the dueling platform, summoning Ares who descended from the heavens with a majesty that left everyone in awe.
Ares, in his own style, gestured towards Orion with a casual bend of his finger, signaling him to make a move. Orion, seeing this challenge, replied, "So eager to die, are you? Your wish is my command!" The gargantuan gargoyle instantly unleashed a volley of purple lightning towards Ares. However, Ares, with matching power, countered with his own purple lightning, neutralizing the attack.
Just as the atmosphere tensed up, Orion declared the end, "It's over!" and resorted to his tried-and-tested move: the slow opening of the gargoyle's eyes. In the split second before it could execute its lethal move, Ares conjured a ferocious sandstorm, directing it at the gargoyle. Unfortunately for the creature, its eyes, as they opened, were met with a barrage of sand, rendering its vision useless.
Seizing this opportune moment, Li Yang secretly activated the 'Saint Virtue Bead', doubling his combat prowess. Without wasting another moment, he directed Ares to combine the power of the purple lightning with the intensity of the sandstorm. The gargoyle, in desperation, erected a purple lightning shield, but the sheer force of Ares' enhanced attack shattered it. The overwhelming power coursed through the gargoyle, causing it to fracture, and it slowly began to crumble.
Orion, horrified, screamed, "Oh no! My gargoyle!" Li Yang, unfazed, responded, "Such a malevolent creature deserves nothing but destruction!" The distraught Orion murmured, "Damn it, my most prized monster is gone." Just as he was about to concede, out of nowhere, a bolt of lightning zapped towards him. Barely able to utter a surrender, Orion's words were interrupted by a scream of pain, and he collapsed, his body marred by fractures.
Lord Arian, visibly angered, said, "Young man, was that really necessary? So ruthless!" Li Yang, with a slight bow, replied, "I apologize, the residual force of the attack caused that. It's unfortunate he was in its path." The arena was awash with murmurs, everyone was taken aback by the sheer power and strategy Li Yang had showcased.
