Bab 112: Lives Lost

Alpha Arthur shot straight up from his sleep. He had ignored it when he felt Maxine join the pack and when he felt Max create a new connection, but this time, he was startled. Three of his guards had lost their lives and they were the ones keeping an eye inside the dungeon.

"What is it, honey?" Jenny asked concerned. 

"The guards watching the Straider brothers were just killed," he said.

"Oh no," Jenny sat up in bed. "Do you think we are under attack?" She asked worriedly. 

"No," he shook his head. "They have not made any other moves, or we have not noticed them yet," he said. 

"All warriors, assemble in my study," he mind-linked the pack. He felt the alarm coursing through the connection but he did not have time to worry about it. He needed to act quickly in case there really was an attack waiting to happen. "All women and children stay in your homes!" He commanded once again. He threw his dark blue robe on and raced to his study.
