Amanda has disappointment written all over her face.
We look like we just betrayed her by lying to her.
But does she know her father that much?
How?
Or maybe the coincidence of the incident answers it all.
I want to go to her and explain to her that that's not the case. But I would still be lying. Adding more lies to lies.
That would be like adding salt to an insult.
She's already feeling betrayed.
Besides, she looks like she's so certain about what she's saying, so explaining everything to her will just make her angrier.
I remember whenever I was always angry or totally disappointed about something, my sister used to give me space. Maybe cry myself out before she could come to talk to me.
I guess I should do just that now too.
I should let her anger cool, before I explain things to her. But what is there to explain? What other lie am I going to tell to justify this?
