"What time... approximately will you finish tonight?" Peggy asked Lewis again, "I'm not trying to rush you, just wondering if you have an estimated time?"
Imagining her waiting at home, Lewis replied, "It won't be too late. Should be over before 10 o'clock."
He was determined to finish work within this timeframe.
"These days we have to entertain clients, it's a bit chaotic. They will leave this Friday." Lewis said, "It will be better next week."
Reading this, Peggy felt like crying.
It seemed she wouldn't have many chances to spend time with Lewis like before.
After finishing work that night, Peggy went home. Her home.
The journey felt strangely unfamiliar.
When she got back home, she was alone and had no wish to prepare any meals.
Living alone, the reason for her preference to order takeout was partly because it was convenient. After a tiresome day at work, cooking was a hassle.
