My life felt like a massive deception. A huge lie.

I couldn't fathom that I was supposed to be the reincarnation of a remarkable woman from generations past. A woman who appeared to have some connection with someone I suspected was related to Zane.

This woman lacked a wolf companion, same as I. So what made her so extraordinary? Why was she born without a wolf? Was my fate entwined with Zane's pack even before Theo rejected me?

I made my way to the burned-down pack house, the scent of smoke filling my nostrils. Pack members were busy picking up wooden planks, attempting to repair the damaged roof.

"Una!" I heard a familiar voice, and suddenly, a pair of arms enveloped me from behind. I recognized the scent as Ravenna's.

"Venna! How have you been?" I inquired, returning the hug.
