Bab 6: Stealing
"I won," I declared, my triumphant words echoing through the cavern.
I couldn't help but reflect on the unexpected difficulty of the battle I had just faced.
It was a stark reminder that, as I had noted in my novel, even a minor difference in rank could significantly influence the outcome of a confrontation.
As I stood there, realization washed over me.
I muttered, "I see."
The fierce struggle I experienced was due to the bear, which I now knew was named "Auriculae," holding a minor rank advantage over me.
It was a revelation that added depth to the challenge I had faced.
I ventured deeper into the cavern, my eyes scanning the surroundings.
In the dim light, I noticed an old, weathered box tucked away in the corner of my vision.
Without hesitation, I drew my sword and brought it down with force, shattering the rusty lock that held the box captive.
With a swift motion, I lifted the lid, revealing the object of my quest.
"I've finally found it!" I exclaimed, a surge of excitement coursing through me as I reached for the [Limit Eater] pill.
With a sense of urgency, I placed it in my mouth, and the moment it touched my tongue, a wave of bitterness overtook my senses.
It was a startling contrast to what I had envisioned based on my novel; there had been no mention of the pill's sickening taste.
Despite the unpleasant flavour, I persevered, forcing myself to swallow the pill.
I understood that this bitter concoction was my sole hope for gaining the strength I desired.
I couldn't afford to let something as trivial as taste deter me, and I certainly wouldn't spit it out.
After successfully consuming the pill, I couldn't contain my curiosity, so I promptly accessed my status to check for any changes.
